Use the View Assemblies page to review and progress your manually and automatically created Assemblies, Sub-Assemblies, and Disassemblies. Keep on top of your production processes by updating statuses, printing jobs, and completing transactions, individually or in bulk, from a single page.
For a listed overview of the Assemblies and Disassemblies in progress on your account, go to the main menu and select Production > Assemblies > View Assemblies.

Manage your view
By default, the View Assemblies page will list all open, manually created Assemblies (including Sub-Assemblies) and Disassemblies in descending order.
Across the top of the View Assemblies page, there are five functional buttons available:
Kanban View: Opens the Assemblies Kanban.
Import: Directs you to Import/Export Production, where you can upload Bills of Materials and Assemblies via CSV templates.
Export: Downloads the current view of the View Assemblies page in either PDF, CSV, or XLSX format.
Add Disassembly: Opens the Add Disassembly page, to create a new Disassembly.
Add Assembly: Opens the Add Assembly page, to create a new Assembly.
Filter your production transactions
Use the filter fields available at the top of the View Assemblies page to specify which Assemblies and Disassemblies should be displayed, making it easier for you to review and update them.

Status | Filter for Assemblies and Disassemblies with the selected status, including custom Assembly Statuses, from the drop-down menu provided. |
Assembly Number | Filter for Assemblies and Disassemblies that include the text entered. |
Product | Filters for Assemblies or Disassemblies that include the text in the code or description of the product being assembled or disassembled. |
Product Group | Filter for Assemblies and Disassemblies based on the Product Group the assembling or disassembling product is assigned to, using the drop-down menu provided. |
Assembly By From | Filter for Assemblies and Disassemblies with an Assembly By date, either on or after the date set. |
Assembly Type | Filter for only Assemblies, Disassemblies, or All, using the drop-down menu provided. |
Auto Assembly | Filter for how the Assemblies and Disassemblies were created, using the drop-down menu available to select either Manual, Auto, or All. |
Printed | Filter the Assemblies and Disassemblies based on whether they've been printed or not. |
Customise the View Assemblies layout
The detail that's displayed per Assembly and Disassembly in the View Assemblies page is determined by column headers that are included in the page's grid layout.
View Assemblies column headers
The columns that are displayed by default in your View Assemblies page are described in the table below.

Action Cog | Use the tick boxes from this column to select multiple Assemblies and Disassemblies from the same page. Hover over the header's action cog icon to apply an action to the selected transactions. |
Assembly Number | Displays the Assembly's or Disassembly's transaction number. |
Assembly Date | Displays the date the Assembly or Disassembly was completed. |
Assembly By | Displays the date the Assembly or Disassembly is expected to be completed. |
Status | Displays the current status of the Assembly or Disassembly, including custom Assembly Statuses. |
Product Code | Displays the unique code of the product being assembled or disassembled. |
Product Description | Displays the description of the product being assembled or disassembled. |
Source Warehouse | Displays the name of the warehouse SOH will be taken. |
Destination Warehouse | Displays the name of the warehouse SOH will be added to. |
Assembly Type | Displays whether the transaction is an Assembly or Disassembly. |
Auto | Displays a cross if the transaction was manually created, or a tick if it was automatically created. |
Assembled Quantity | Displays the total number of SOH units due to be assembled or disassembled. |
Total Cost | Displays the sum total value of the transaction's cost. If the transaction is an Assembly, it will show the sum of all component and supplier costs. If the transaction is a Disassembly, it will show the assembled product's Average Landed Cost x Disassemble Quantity. |

View Assemblies' Hidden Columns
There are additional columns you can display on the View Assemblies page, which can be found in the Show Toolbar tab's Hidden Column. Drag and drop the column header from the Hidden Columns pop-up window into your grid's layout to populate the column's detail per Assembly or Disassembly in your view. The default Hidden Columns available to include in the View Assemblies page are described in the table below.

Actual Duration | Displays the time taken to complete the Assembly. |
Comments | Displays any comments saved against the Assembly or Disassembly. |
Duration Comments | Displays any comments saved about the Assembly's duration. |
Expected Duration | Displays the time it is expected to take for the Assembly to be completed. |
Printed | Indicates whether the transaction has been printed. If a cross is shown, it has not been printed; if a tick is shown, it has been. |
Product Group | Displays the Product Group the assembled product is assigned to. |
Sales Order | If the Assembly were created from a Sales Order, the Sales Order's number will be displayed. |
📌Note: Only the headers already displayed in the layout or the Hidden Columns list can be displayed in the View Assemblies page.
Manage custom layouts
Customize how the Assembly and Disassembly details are displayed by adjusting the column widths, dragging and dropping columns into their preferred position, and clicking on the header to sort the Assemblies and Disassemblies into ascending or descending order. You can also drag and drop column headers into the grey space above the other column headers to group Assemblies and Disassemblies by that column's detail, in an expandable format.
After customizing your column layout, save it for future use:
Click on the Show Toolbar tab.
Select New.
Enter a unique name for the new layout.
Click Add.
The layout will now be saved to your user profile, only available to select from the Show Toolbar's Grid Layout drop-down menu.
Edits can be made to your custom grid layout at any time; just click Save in the Show Toolbar options after you've made the necessary adjustments. Similarly, custom grid layouts can be removed by clicking Delete in the Show Toolbar tab.
Default grid layouts
Initially, whenever you navigate to the View Bill of Materials page, the default grid layout "None" will be displayed.
To make one of your own custom grid layouts the default view:
Click on the Show Toolbar tab.
Select the layout from the Grid Layout drop-down menu
Tick the Default checkbox.
Click Save.
Share grid layouts
If you've created a grid layout that other users in your account would benefit from using, you can make it available to their user profiles too:
Click on the Show Toolbar tab.
Select the layout from the Grid Layout drop-down menu
Tick the Shared checkbox.
Click Save.
The layout will then be available to select from the Show Toolbar > Grid Layout menu when other users open the View Bill of Materials page.
🤓Tip: Shared layouts cannot be a default for another user's profile, but they can save the shared layout as a new layout in their own profile, then set that as their default. Bear in mind that any edits you make to your shared layout will not apply to their saved default version.
Manage Assemblies and Disassemblies from View Assemblies
The View Assemblies page can be used to provide an overview of Assemblies and Disassemblies made to date, and their progress throughout the production process. Use the actions available in View Assemblies to update your transactions accurately, efficiently, and in real time to keep in line with your physical processes.
Individual and bulk actions
The updates that can be made to Assemblies and Disassemblies via the View Assemblies page depend upon whether it's a bulk action or individual transaction's update.

Along each Assembly and Disassembly in View Assemblies, there's an action cog icon displayed that provides various action options, depending upon the Assembly's current status. The table below describes the action options available per status.

To apply an action to update to multiple Assemblies and Disassemblies, use the checkboxes available under the action icon header to select the appropriate Assemblies and Disassemblies, then hover over the action cog icon in the header to apply the action:

Assembly Statuses
During the production process, you can use custom Assembly Statuses to easily identify the Assembly's stage in the production process. Assembly Statuses are an extension of the Parked status, and will not change the SOH of any component or assembled products in the Assembly.
📌Note: Custom statuses cannot be used on Disassemblies.
To create a custom Assembly Status, go to Settings > System > Assembly Statuses. Provide a unique name and colour for the status and save it so that it can be applied to your next Assemblies.
Change an Assembly's status
An Assembly's status can be changed in one of the following ways:
Open the Assembly, click the Save dropdown button, select the appropriate status.
In View Assemblies, tick the Assembly's checkbox, hover over the header's action cog icon, and select Change Status. Select the new status in the pop-up window displayed and click on Change Status.
In the Assemblies Kanban, move the Assembly's card from it's current status board to it's new status's board.
Frequently asked questions
Can I view deleted Assemblies or Disassemblies?
Can I view deleted Assemblies or Disassemblies?
No, once an Assembly or Disassembly is deleted, it cannot be opened or viewed in your account. However, the deleted Assembly's number is still saved as a used transaction number, so it cannot be reused.
Where can I find a list of all my assembleable products?
Where can I find a list of all my assembleable products?
To find a list of all the products that have been enabled as an "Assembled Product", you can go to Reports > Purchases > Reorder Report, filter by Product Type: Assembled, and Stock Level: All.
Alternatively, go to Inventory > Products > View Products. Click on Show Toolbar > Hidden Columns, then drag the Is Assembled header into the View Products grid layout, above the other grid headers. Your inventory products will then be grouped by whether or not Is Assembled is true.
