Custom Assembly Statuses allow you to create personalized status labels for your assembly transactions, providing better organization and tracking throughout your production workflow. Your custom statuses power the Assembly Kanban board, creating a powerful visual management tool that displays your assemblies as cards organized by their current status.
By assigning meaningful status names like "Design Review," "Parts Ordered," "In Production," or "Quality Testing," you create clear stages that everyone on your team can instantly understand. Instead of wondering where each assembly stands in your production process, status labels provide immediate clarity. Team members can quickly identify bottlenecks, see which assemblies need immediate attention, and understand the overall health of your production pipeline at a glance.
π Note: Custom Assembly Statuses are not available to use for Disassembly transactions.

Customised Statuses for Assemblies
Manage Assembly statuses
By design, Assemblies will progress through the following pre-set, fixed statuses to signify where the Assembly is in the production process:
Parked
Completed
Custom Assembly Statuses will enable you to expand on the Parked status to openly track how far it is through production.
You can create up to 10 custom Assembly statuses, each with its own color coding for easy visual identification. Each Assembly Status must be given a unique name, but they can share the same colour.
Add an Assembly status
To create a new custom Assembly status:
From the main menu, go to Settings > System > Assembly Statuses.
In the "Name" field, enter a unique name for the status.
Click on the "Color" circle to select a colour for the status.
Click Add.
As soon as the Assembly Status has been added to the list, it will be available to use on a Parked status assembly. The "Name" given to the status will be the status's label.
Edit an Assembly status
After an Assembly status has been created, its name and colour can be updated at any time:
From the main menu, go to Settings > System > Assembly Statuses.
Click on the "Name" or "Color" field on the existing status.
Edit as required.
Click away from the Assembly status.
Any Assembly with the edited Assembly will then update to match the recent change.
Obsolete an Assembly status
Sometimes you may want to phase out a status without completely removing it, in this case, it can be made obsolete.
To obsolete an Assembly status:
From the main menu, go to Settings > System > Assembly Statuses.
Click on the existing status in the Custom Statuses grid.
Tick the Obsolete checkbox.
Click away from the Assembly Status.
Obsolete statuses remain visible in dropdown filters for View Assemblies and Production Enquiry reports to preserve historical data, but you cannot assign them to new assemblies or change existing assemblies to use obsolete statuses, effectively preventing future use while maintaining data integrity.
π Note: A custom Assembly status currently in use cannot be made obsolete.
Delete an Assembly status
When an Assembly status is no longer needed, it can be deleted so that it is no longer available in your account.
To delete an Assembly status:
From the main menu, go to Settings > System > Assembly Statuses.
Click on the bin icon along the existing status's row in the Custom Statuses grid.
Confirm deletion by clicking Yes.
π Note: A custom Assembly status currently in use cannot be deleted.
Using Assembly Statuses
Once you've created your custom assembly statuses, you can begin incorporating them into your daily production workflow. The following sections explain how to assign statuses when creating new assemblies, update existing assemblies individually or in bulk, and leverage these statuses for better project visibility and control.
Update an Assembly's status
To change the status of a single assembly:
Open the Assembly that is currently in a Parked or custom Assembly Status.
Click the dropdown arrow next to the Save button.
Select the new status from the available options.
Click Save.
To update multiple assemblies simultaneously:
Go to Production > View Assemblies.
Select multiple assemblies using the checkboxes on the left.
Hover over the Action Cog at the top of the checkbox column.
Select 'Change Status'.
Select the appropriate status from the dropdown.
Click 'Change Status'.
Reporting on Assemblies
Both the View Assemblies and Production Enquiry allow you to filter by custom assembly statuses, making it easier to review and manage your assemblies at a specific stage.
Similarly, the Assembly Kanban, found in Production > Assemblies > Assembly Kanban, provides the most visual and interactive way to view and manage assemblies by status. Each Assembly Status appears as its own column, populating the Assemblies of that status that can be moved from one column to another to update the Assembly's status accordingly.
