1. Overview
Unplex connects directly to a firm's cloud storage so documents can be accessed, analyzed, and managed without leaving the existing environment. Documents remain in the connected storage; Unplex reads and writes to them in place. Nothing is duplicated or stored separately on Unplex infrastructure (see Data Security and Privacy at Unplex).
2. Supported Providers

3. Connecting SharePoint or OneDrive
Open the project and go to Project Settings → Integrations.
Click Connect next to SharePoint or OneDrive.
Authorize the connection via Microsoft, using the Microsoft 365 account.
Select the document libraries or folders to be made accessible.
Click Confirm. The connection is active immediately.
Note: read/write permissions on the selected document libraries are required. A permissions error indicates the Microsoft 365 administrator must grant access.
4. Connecting Google Drive
Open the project and go to Project Settings → Integrations.
Click Connect next to Google Drive.
Authorize via the Google account.
Select the folders to be made accessible.
Click Confirm.
5. Where Documents Are Stored
Documents are never moved or copied to Unplex infrastructure; access occurs directly via a secure API connection to the connected storage. When Unplex writes changes back — for example, accepted suggestions in a Word document — they are saved directly to the connected cloud storage, not to Unplex.
6. Planned Integrations
DeepSign (digital signature workflow), Outlook (email integration, currently in beta), and Teams are planned. iManage and other DMS connections are available on request.
