Your Daily Workflow with Unplex

How to build Unplex into your daily legal workflow in 15 minutes — from morning research to end-of-day document review.

Written by Sabina Sokolowski

1. Overview

This chapter assumes a first research query, a first contract review in Word, and a first citation verification have already been completed. It describes how to turn those individual actions into a repeatable daily pattern, requiring approximately 15 minutes and producing measurable time savings from day one.

2. Morning: Research (5 Minutes)

Before opening a matter file, standing legal questions from the previous day are answered via the AI Workspace. A question is entered in natural language; Unplex searches FedLex, BGer, and the firm's internal knowledge base and returns a sourced answer within seconds.

Example: "What is the current BGer position on penalty clauses under OR Art. 160 in supply agreements?"

The Note element is used to retain the answer for the session; it can be referenced in follow-up queries or copied directly into a client memo.

3. Mid-Morning: Contract Review in Word (5 Minutes per Contract)

The contract is opened in Microsoft Word, where the Unplex panel is already present in the sidebar — no tool switch, no uploaded copy. A clause is selected, or Review Full Document is clicked.

Each flagged clause returns: the issue, the risk level, the legal source behind the assessment, and a suggested alternative formulation. Findings are reviewed, accepted, or dismissed; the full document is typically completed before the first call of the day.

Note: high-risk flags should be reviewed first. Low-risk flags can be batched and reviewed at the end of the day.

4. Before Sending: Citation Check (3 Minutes)

Any document going to a client, a court, or a regulator should be run through citation verification before it leaves the desk. The document is opened, Verify Citations is selected, and every statutory reference is checked in under a minute. Any Flagged or Not Found result is resolved before sending.

6. Adoption Note

Teams reporting the highest return treat Unplex as a continuously used tool from the start of the day, rather than an occasional aid. The effect compounds once Unplex becomes the default first step for a research question or contract, rather than a step added after manual work has already begun. Most users reach this point within the first two weeks.
