How to Link your Shopify Account with Lister

How to connect Shopify to Lister in about 5 minutes

Overview

In this article, we'll go over how to link your Shopify account to Lister.

To get started, open the admin portion of your Shopify site by going to shopify.com and clicking "Log in" at the top right of the page.

Table of Contents

Step 1: Create and Install a Custom App in Shopify

Begin by following the steps in this Shopify help article to create and install a custom app. Ensure all API scopes are enabled when you create the custom app. We’ve summarized the steps below.

  1. Open your Shopify and click the gear icon at the bottom left to navigate to the settings page

  2. Click “Apps and sales channels” in the left navigation menu

  3. Click the “Develop Apps” button in the top right of the page

  4. Click the “Create an app” button in the top right corner of the page

  5. Name the app “Upright Lister Integration”

  6. Click the “Create App” button

  7. Click “Configure Admin API scopes”

  8. Scroll down the list of scopes and select every checkbox

  9. Click “Save” at the top right of the page

  10. Click the “Install App” button at the top right of the page

Step 2: Copy API Credentials into Lister

  1. Open Upright Lister in a separate browser and click the gear icon in the top right corner to navigate to the admin settings page

  2. Click “Shopify” in the left navigation menu

  3. Click the green “Link my shop” button

You'll see a popup asking you to enter the details of the custom Shopify app we created above in step 1. This popup box has four fields that need to be filled out with data from your custom app in Shopify:

  1. Open your Shopify account in a separate browser window and click the gear icon at the bottom left to navigate to the settings page

  2. Copy the store URL under your store name at the top left of the page. eg: "Example-store.myshopify.com"

  3. Paste the URL to the Shop URL field in Lister

  4. Return to the settings page in Shopify and click “Apps and sales channels” in the left navigation menu

  5. Click the “Develop Apps” button in the top right of the page

  6. Click the Upright Lister Integration app we created in Step 1 above

  7. Click “API Credentials”

  8. Click to reveal the Admin API access token and copy it to your clipboard
NOTE: To protect your data, you’ll only be able to reveal your Admin API token once. Copy and save your Admin API access token in a secure place!

  9. Return to Lister and paste the Admin API Access token to the Admin API Access token field

  10. Return to the API Credentials page in Shopify and click the clipboard icon next to the “API key” field to copy the API Key

  11. Return to Lister and paste the API Key to the API Key field

  12. Return to the API Credentials page in Shopify and click the clipboard icon next to the “API secret key” field to copy the API secret key

  13. Return to Lister and paste the API secret key to the API secret key field

  14. Click the blue “Link Shop” button

Step 3: Verify Account Link
