Overview

The Urgent Tasks Link notification alerts you when an online order contains an item on your retail floor. Whenever an Urgent Task notification appears in Link, it’s time to locate the item and move it to an eCommerce fulfillment area or marked with a sold item tag.

This guide outlines how to set up your Lister Inventory locations and how to use the Urgent Tasks tool in Link.

Table of Contents

How to Assign a Lister Inventory Location as Retail Floor

To get started, an admin or custom role teammate with access to edit inventory locations will need to mark Lister locations as “Retail Floor” that are accessible to retail buyers in your stores.

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right navigation menu in Lister to open the Admin page

  2. Click “Inventory Locations” in the left navigation menu

  3. Click “Edit” next to each location that’s on your retail floor

  4. Click the “Retail Floor” checkbox

  5. Click the blue “Update inventory location” button

Repeat steps 3-5 with every inventory location that’s on your retail floor and accessible to in-store buyers.

How to Activate Push Notifications in Link

Log in to Link on each device that’s used to pick orders and follow the steps below:

  1. Swipe down on the main dashboard and tap “Manage Device”

  2. Tap “Notifications”

  3. Ensure “Allow Notifications” is toggled ON

  4. Confirm the Alerts options for Lock Screen, Notifications Center, and Banners are all activated

  5. Verify the Banner Style is set to “Persistent”

  6. Ensure the “Sounds” and “Badges” options are toggled ON

  7. Confirm “Show Previews” is set to “Always (Default)” and Notifications Grouping is set to “Automatic”

How to Use Urgent Tasks in Link

Whenever an item sells online that is stored in Lister in an inventory location tagged as “Retail Floor” you will receive a push notification in Link that an item needs your attention. In addition, the notification bell in Link will show a red dot if an Urgent Task is awaiting action.

Your e-commerce team responsible for order fulfillment should follow the steps below to handle these items:

  1. Log into Link and tap the notifications icon in the top right corner of the dashboard

  2. Each item in the list shows the main image, name, SKU, and inventory location. Locate the item on your retail floor and add a sold item tag to the product (for larger items that will remain on the retail floor), or move the item to your order fulfillment station

  3. Swipe right to mark the item as tagged

  4. As an alternative to swiping on the item, tap the scan icon to open the camera and scan the SKU on the product

  5. Ship the order to your buyer, or prepare it for local pickup based on the buyer’s shipping choice

💡 Operational Tip: If you accidentally swipe on the wrong item, scroll to the bottom of the Urgent Tasks page and swipe on the item again to unmark the item as labeled.
