How to fix hip pain even with arthritis and other orthopedic labels

Updated over a week ago

Are you willing to believe that you can get better? If yes, read on. If not, stop reading!

Science consistently finds that arthritis in an X-ray means basically nothing. You can have terrible arthritis in any joint (hips, knees, spine, shoulder, etc.) and it will have ZERO link to pain. This has been studied numerous times, and the results are always the same.

Hip labrum tears have also shown little correlation to hip pain and hip problems.

Bursitis is just one of many orthopedic diagnoses that assign blame for your discomfort on a structure you can do nothing to fix. It is not backed by evidence. In fact, this study demonstrated with sonographic investigation that 80% of patients with "hip bursitis" actually didn't have inflammation of the bursa! They had issues with their gluteal tendons and IT bands.

Tendons are parts of your muscles. When muscles atrophy, THEY ACHE. The muscles themselves lose integrity and beg for use (by aching).

That's why I, as a fully non-medical professional, encourage people to pay attention to muscles instead of focusing on x-rays, MRIs, and other labels that cause you to fixate on alleged damage.

I have been told that due to "moderate arthritis" I should STOP stretching, exercising, etc. That advice made everything worse.

Careful, smart movement consistently makes things better. :-)
