On the Inventory Item Detail Screen

    1. From this modal you can search BOMs and items

  3. Click “Unlink Material” to remove a link

On the Requisition Screen

  1. For inventory items from a warehouse request (WHREQ) click the “Link Item to BOM” button

Link-ability

  1. A single inventory item can be linked to multiple BOM items

  2. A BOM item can only have a link to one inventory item

Usage Quantity Updates

For General stock

  1. We ignore all GS (General Stock) POs

  2. When a GS item is linked to a BOM item when that item is picked, the used quantity will update

For Job stock

When a PO for a job has an inventory location set as a delivery address and the items are linked to BOM items, then the used quantity will update when the inventory items are picked

Cost Updates

For General Stock

Costs are updated in the following order:

  1. We will not take prices from general stock POs

  2. First, if there is a price on the internal order we use that

  3. Second, if there is a price on the inventory item then use that price

  4. Third, users can turn on the Admin setting “Use BOM estimated price as actual when inventory item price is not available from the item or from the PO. ”

    1. When turned on: When the inventory item does not have a price and the internal order does not have a price, then use the Estimated Price for that item as the actual. If the estimate does not have a price either the price will be $0

    2. When turned off: When the inventory item does not have a price and the internal order does not have a price then the price will be $0

For Job Stock

  1. We do not update prices from PO acknowledgment when the delivery address is an inventory location address. If the PO has an inventory location address, we update the BOM price based on picking.

  2. First, we update the BOM price based on the setting “Use job stock PO to update BOM” when job stock is picked and the item(s) is linked to a PO(s)

    1. When the setting on

      1. If only one PO with one price or all prices match across POs, we autofill the price on BOM

      2. if prices differ we use the inventory item price

    2. when setting is off, we use inventory item price

  3. Second, when job stock is picked and the item has no PO links but does have an inventory link, then we use the inventory item’s price

  4. Third, we have an admin setting called “Use BOM estimated price as actual when inventory item price is not available from the item or from the PO. ”

    1. When turned on: When the inventory item does not have a price and no POs have a price, then use the Estimated Price for that item as the actual. If the estimate does not have a price either we keep the price $0

    2. When turned off: When the inventory item does not have a price and no POs have a price then we keep the price $0

Note

If an inventory item is picked then a link added to a BOM item, it will not update the usage numbers. The link must be present before picking.
