Import contacts via CSV

Use CSVs to import your target contact lists

Updated over a week ago

If your CRM is not currently available in our list of integrations, or you simply would rather not connect your CRM to Userled, you have the option to import your contact lists via CSV. This is also helpful if your target lists reside in a different tool like an email outreach, marketing automation or enrichment provider.

When importing target lists via CSV, Userled will make the column headers in your CSV available as variables within the editor to personalise your experiences. It's important that the CSV is formatted properly and you add all the information you'll need for personalisation.

Prerequisite: Format your CSV

It's important to format your CSV properly so you don't run into any issues.

  1. Headers: Userled requires that the first row of your CSV be headers. Userled uses these headers as variable names within the editor.

  2. Email: Userled requires that the first column of the CSV contain the email of the contact. For example, if you are targeting Elon Musk at Tesla, the first column of the row for Elon should contain elon.musk@telsa.com. Userled uses the email as a unique identifier for the contact. We also use the email for enrichment.

Note: It's important to double-check and make sure that there aren't any empty headers or duplicated columns or rows, otherwise you might run into some problems when you go to upload.

Use your CSV's column headers as variables

The column headers you add to your CSV are available to you as variables in the editor to personalise your experience for your target contacts.
