How Agent Writing Style Works

Set your Agent's tone of voice with written Rules instead of sliders, and give it Domain Knowledge about your company, ICP, and industry — all from chat, at the Agent or Campaign level.

What changed

Tone-of-voice controls moved from sliders to Rules — plain-language instructions you write out instead of dragging a slider. You can copy Rules from one Agent to another, so you don't have to set them up twice.

Terms are now called Domain Knowledge. Same idea, wider scope: not just company facts, but ICP details, industry terminology, and positioning.

Setting tone and Domain Knowledge from chat

Everything is controlled through chat, not a settings panel.

  • While creating a campaign: mention your tone preferences in the initial campaign brief conversation, and Twain sets up the Rules for you.

  • After the campaign exists: keep chatting — add more Rules or Domain Knowledge anytime, in the campaign chat.

Where to find and review changes

Go to the campaign's Local Agent Copy → Writing Style. Every Rule and Domain Knowledge update you've made in that campaign is listed there.

Publishing changes to your Source Agent

Each campaign runs on a Local Agent Copy of your Source Agent. Changes you make inside a campaign stay local by default, they don't affect your other campaigns.

If a change should apply everywhere, publish it: push the Rule or Domain Knowledge update from the campaign to the Source Agent. It becomes part of your Agent's permanent knowledge base and applies to every future campaign built on that Agent. If it's campaign-specific, just leave it, no need to publish.

Why this matters

Written Rules plus an explicit publish/don't-publish choice make tone of voice easier to audit and control: you always know what's set, where it came from, and whether it's local to one campaign or live everywhere.
