Goal:
Build excitement and increase participation by empowering a few enthusiastic residents to help promote and participate in Spintopia games.

1. Identify 2–3 Resident Champions

Ask staff to choose residents who are:

  • Social and enjoy group activities

  • Regular Spintopia players

  • Natural encouragers who invite others to join

They don’t need to be outgoing performers—just residents who enjoy the game and like inviting others.

2. Give Them a Fun Title

Titles make the role feel special. Some ideas:

  • Spintopia Champion

  • Puzzle Pro

  • Spin Squad Leader

  • Resident Game Ambassador

  • Wheel Watcher

Communities can even vote on the title.

3. Simple Responsibilities

Keep it very light so it feels fun, not like a job.

Resident Champions can:

• Invite friends and neighbors to the game
• Help pass out Spintopia tickets or flyers
• Sit in the front and help guess letters
• Celebrate winners and cheer others on
• Suggest puzzle ideas from residents

4. Recognition & Rewards

Recognition is key for motivation.

Ideas:

  • Certificate: “Official Spintopia Champion”

  • Spintopia Bucks or small prizes

  • Photo on the activity board

  • Mention in the community newsletter

  • A fun badge or name tag

You could also rotate champions every month.

5. Launch Idea (Easy for Staff)

At the end of a game:

“Today we’re introducing our Spintopia Champions — residents who help bring the fun and encourage everyone to play!”

Give them their certificate and take a photo.

Why This Works

Resident Champions help:

⭐ Increase participation
⭐ Make new residents feel comfortable joining
⭐ Build excitement between games
⭐ Create peer-driven engagement (which is powerful in senior communities)
