Creative Ideas for Spintopia at your Community

  • Decorate the room/have team color beads to create team spirit

  • Get To Know You Spintopia: When a team solves, they have to tell the rest of the room one fun fact about themselves that others are not likely to know. This is great when you have resident turn over and want residents to start getting to know each other.

  • Create custom puzzles for special events or themed weeks. Come up with your own unique categories that suit your group's interests or inside jokes.

  • Customize team names and the “Free” space to “Prize” and offer prizes while playing

  • Have a resident run the game or create custom puzzles for the game for others in the community to play

  • Themed Spintopia: Customize the puzzles to fit a particular theme. For example, if you're playing with a group of friends who are movie buffs, have categories related to movies and customize the puzzles for your game accordingly.

  • Family Spintopia: Host the game for your residents while on zoom and invite family members to play or watch their loved ones play

  • Dress up in costume to host the game, getting props or setting up the room in a creative way to make it feel like they’re on a live game show

  • Theme your Spintopia events each time you play

  • Spintopia Bingo: Combine the concept of bingo with Wheel of Fortune. Residents can use bingo cards, and when they solve a puzzle correctly, they mark off corresponding spaces on their cards. Offer prizes for different bingo patterns.

  • Spintopia Storytelling/Memory Lane: Create a round where residents have to recall events or trends from the past. It could be a nostalgic journey down memory lane.

  • Guest Hosts: Invite residents or staff members to act as guest hosts for different rounds. This adds a personal touch and makes the event more engaging.

  • Prizes Beyond: Give external prizes, incentives, or awards during the game!

  • Happy Hour Spintopia: Set up a happy hour and have residents casually stroll in to play and sip with their friends!

  • Ice-Breaking Spintopia: A spin that reveals conversation starters or topics to encourage mingling. Create Spintopia puzzles that trigger a story or get to know you topic and get residents to go around and talk to another person to share their stories. Create Ice-Breaker Questions for each puzzle phrase for residents to share with one another: From work-related to personal, these prompts get team members to open up in a relaxed setting.

  • Speed Rounds: Introduce timed rounds where players have to solve the puzzle within a certain time limit. This adds excitement and urgency to the game, as players race against the clock.

  • Interactive Elements: Incorporate interactive elements such as buzzers or sound effects to make the game more engaging. Players can buzz in to solve puzzles instead of going in a specific order, adding a competitive edge to the game.

  • Mini-Games: Intersperse the game with mini-games or challenges to break up the gameplay and keep things interesting. For example, you could have a "mystery puzzle" round where players have to solve a particularly challenging puzzle to earn bonus points.

  • Prizes and Incentives: Offer prizes or incentives for winners, such as gift cards, small trinkets, or even bragging rights. This adds motivation for players to perform their best and adds an extra layer of excitement to the game.
