The short answer
Once you pass your evaluation, you complete a one-time identity verification (KYC) through Veriff, our verification partner. You confirm who you are with a government photo ID and a quick selfie check, all inside the secure Veriff flow. This step finalises your funded account and unlocks payouts. You never verify your identity to open or start an evaluation, only after you have passed.
Why KYC happens after you pass, not before
We deliberately put identity verification at the end, not the start. You can buy an evaluation, sit down, and trade without ever handing us a document. Nothing about your identity is required to begin.
Verification only becomes relevant once there is a real reward attached to your account. At that point we need to confirm that the person being funded and paid is the same person who traded, and that we are paying who we say we are paying. This protects you and keeps the firm compliant with the obligations of our operating entities.
It also keeps the bar where it belongs: on your trading. Most evaluations do not pass. The ones that do have earned the funded account, and KYC is simply the formality that finalises it.
What you submit through Veriff
When you pass, you receive a secure link to Veriff and complete the check directly in their flow. Veriff is a dedicated identity-verification provider, so your documents are captured and processed inside their system, not emailed around.
In practice you will be asked for a valid government-issued photo ID and a short live selfie or liveness check so Veriff can match your face to the document. The exact document types accepted and the precise on-screen steps are shown to you inside the Veriff flow when you reach this stage, so always follow the prompts you see there. A few simple habits make it go smoothly:
Use a document that is current and not expired.
Make sure the full document is in frame, with no glare, blur, or fingers covering text.
Verify in good lighting and have your face clearly visible (no hat, sunglasses, or heavy backlight).
Use the name that matches the details on your UZO account.
How long verification takes
The submission itself takes only a few minutes. Most checks are reviewed quickly after that, and you are notified when the result comes back. The exact turnaround is shown in the Veriff flow and can vary depending on document quality and review volume, so treat your own submission status as the source of truth rather than a fixed number.
The single biggest factor in your favour is a clean first submission. A clear photo and a current document are usually approved without any back-and-forth. Blurry or partial captures are the most common reason a check loops back for a retry.
Common reasons verification is delayed or rejected
Almost every delay comes from the document itself, not from anything complicated. The most frequent causes are easy to avoid:
Issue | How to avoid it |
Blurry, dark, or cropped photo | Retake in good light with the whole document in frame |
Expired document | Use a current, valid ID |
Name does not match your account | Use the same legal name on both |
Selfie does not clearly match the ID | Remove hats and glasses, face the camera directly |
What to do if your verification fails
A failed or inconclusive check is rarely the end of anything. In most cases Veriff simply asks you to retry, usually because a photo was unclear. Read the on-screen reason, fix that one thing, and submit again.
If you have retried with a clean, valid document and still cannot get through, contact us at support@uzo.com with your account details. We will look into it with you. Your passed result does not expire because of a verification hiccup, so there is no pressure to rush a bad photo through.
What happens once you are verified
Verification is a one-time step for your account. Once you clear it, your funded account is finalised and your payout path is open. You do not repeat KYC for future rewards on the same account.
Then you get paid
With verification complete, payouts move fast: approval in under an hour and clearing within 12 hours, by bank transfer or crypto. You keep your 90% split, and your evaluation fee is refunded on your first reward payout.
For the record, UZO is operated by two real, licensed entities: EonStrategy L.L.C-FZ (UAE, licence 2204298.01) as the principal operator, and UZO LTD (Saint Lucia), which operates the MetaTrader 5 simulation platform. Verifying your identity is part of dealing with a genuine firm, not a hurdle invented to stall your payout.
