Day of Check-In Guide

Why This Matters

Sending a detailed check-in message and setting up the smart lock code ensures guests have a smooth arrival and immediate access to the property. This proactive communication:

  • Prevents confusion with parking, property access, or house rules

  • Reduces last-minute questions and stress for both guests and host

  • Builds trust and confidence, starting the stay on a positive note

What You Need

  • Guest has an approved booking and confirmed check-in date

  • Access to the Wyze app

  • Guest’s phone number (to generate the access code)

  • Pre-saved House Rules and House Manual in Airbnb Quick Replies

  • Photos of the property, entrance, and parking spot


Step 1: Set Guest’s Smart Lock Code in Wyze

  1. Open the Wyze app and select the property

  2. Tap the gear icon → Keypad Settings → Access Codes

  3. Tap Create a Guest Code → Enter guest’s name → Tap Next

  4. Select Temporary

  5. Set code activation and deactivation times:

    • Activate: 15 minutes before check-in (e.g., 2:45 PM for a 3 PM check-in)

    • Deactivate: 15 minutes after check-out (e.g., 11:15 AM for a 11 AM check-out)

  6. Tap Save → Tap Next

  7. Enter a 4-digit code (e.g., last 4 digits of guest’s phone number) → Tap Next to finish

Step 2: Send the Check-In Message

Hi [Guest Name],

Hope your day is going well! You’re all set to check in starting at 3 PM. Your unique 4-digit code is [CODE], which will activate at 2:45 PM and work for the duration of your stay.

Unit Location: The gray house at the back of the property

Parking Instructions:

  • There are 2 TANDEM parking spots (cars park one behind the other).

  • Please only park in your assigned space.

  • See attached photo for guidance on yellow markers and proper parking.

Accessing the Unit:

- The keypad is at the top left of the door frame.

- Enter your code, then press the unlock button (bottom right of the keypad)
