What is Picking in Ventory?

In warehouse management, products are not always directly transferred from one location to another. Instead, during an outbound order, items may first be moved to a temporary, transferrable space before reaching their final destination. This process is known as Picking in the Ventory platform. Picking ensures an organized and efficient workflow when handling inventory transfers within the warehouse.

Example of Picking in Action

Imagine a warehouse where products need to be transferred from storage shelves to a delivery van.

Instead of moving items directly, they are first placed in a designated staging area before being loaded onto the van. Enabling the Picking feature in Ventory allows warehouse staff to efficiently track and manage these intermediary steps, ensuring smooth transitions between storage and shipment.

How to Enable Picking in Ventory

Activating the Picking feature in Ventory is simple and can be done through the settings. Follow these steps on the web platform:

Settings > Company > Edit > Feature toggle > enable “Picking” > Save
