Before you create work order types, you should already have your event types added to VetLogix. Check out how to add and manage event types for how to set those up.
Work orders serve as the link between scheduled events and client billing, ensuring accurate invoicing for the services provided. While events such as staff meetings wouldn't require work orders, any event involving client services, such as consultations or procedures, should have a work order associated with it to generate an invoice.
In the Scheduling app, work orders simplify billing by allowing users to bill a single client for multiple animals seen or treated, all without leaving the current screen. This allows users to efficiently create and record health events using charting templates, which are automatically applied to each animal’s health record. This functionality is particularly beneficial for herd health medicine, enabling veterinarians to quickly bill for services or products while accurately documenting individual animal treatments.
