Where to Find House Rules
Log in to your Host Dashboard at www.vidlehousing.com.
Navigate to Listings → My Listings.
Click the three dots (⋯) next to the listing you’d like to update and select Edit Listing.
In the listing editor, scroll to the Rules section.
Basic House Rules (Checkboxes)
Under Rules, you’ll see quick checkboxes that let guests know what is and isn’t allowed at your property. These include:
Smoking
Parties or events
Pets
Children
Selecting the appropriate options ensures travelers understand your policies before booking.
Check-In and Check-Out Times
You can also add check-in and check-out times. While optional, this information is highly recommended so travelers can plan their arrival and departure accordingly.
Examples:
Check-in: After 3:00 PM
Check-out: By 11:00 AM
House Rules (Detailed Policies)
This section allows you to provide more specific guidelines, such as:
Maximum occupancy
Quiet hours (e.g., 10 PM–7 AM)
Fees for smoking violations
Fees for unauthorized pets or guests
Lost key or lockout fees
No rearranging furniture
No candles or open flames
Trash and recycling instructions
Clear rules help prevent misunderstandings and give you documentation if an issue arises.
Additional Rules & Community Guidelines
Use Additional Rules to share community-specific or neighborhood guidelines, including:
HOA or building rules
Parking restrictions or permits
Pool, gym, or shared space guidelines
Elevator or building access rules
Noise or courtesy expectations for neighbors
You may also include any additional fees or expectations travelers should be aware of before booking.
Check-In Instructions
Within the Rules section, you can also update your check-in instructions. These instructions are automatically sent to the traveler 24–48 hours before arrival.
Helpful check-in details include:
Parking instructions
Building or unit access information
Door or lockbox codes
Wi-Fi name and password
Security or gate access instructions
Any special arrival tips for your property
Clear check-in instructions help ensure a smooth arrival and reduce last-minute questions.
