Sharing your On-Demand videos

This tutorial shows how to use the Share feature of the ViewMedica On-Demand player.

ViewMedica sharing allows you to continue to educate your patients outside the exam room and allows your patients to engage family and friends in their treatment. Here are a few ways you can share patient education videos or presentations.

From your website

If you follow our best practices for On-Demand, you and your patients can share videos right from your website.

  1. Go to the page on your website where the ViewMedica player is embedded.

  2. Search for or navigate to a specific video in the player you want to share. Then, click the “Share” button. If you have an individual video embedded, hover over the player and click the “Share” button at the top.

  3. Choose how you want to share your video. You can email a link, share on Facebook or Twitter, or create a link to copy and paste into a text message.

The ViewMedica share page is branded to your facility and provides a link to your site. The share page uses the same customizable settings in the On-Demand “Appearance” section.

Note

For embed codes obtained after January 2022, it is possible to create a custom share URL that links directly back to a page on your site. It requires adding the following script in the head of your website and enabling "Custom Share URL" in the On-Demand Settings section of your ViewMedica account.

From your ViewMedica account

Start by signing into your account on ViewMedica.com. If you don’t remember how to sign in, see our logging in tutorial.

  1. From your dashboard, click “Launch Player” under the ViewMedica “On-Demand” section.

  2. Search for or navigate to a video in the player.

  3. Click the “Share” button at the top of the player.

  4. Choose how you want to share your video. You can email a link, share to Facebook or Twitter, or create a link to copy and paste into a text message.

From the desktop or mobile apps

  1. Launch the app.

  2. Search for or navigate to a video in the player.

  3. Click the “Share” button at the top of the player.

  4. Choose how you want to share your video. You can email a link, share to Facebook or Twitter, or create a link to copy and paste into a text message.

Note

Videos shared from the "Launch Player" page, or the On-Demand desktop and mobile apps will always use the ViewMedica share page. This page is branded to your facility and provides a link to your site. The share page uses the same customizable settings in the On-Demand "Appearance" section.

No share button?

Look for three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the player. Depending on the player size or orientation of a mobile device, the “Share” button may be located in the “Extras” menu.

If you don’t see the “Share” button at all, please be sure that your On-Demand Settings don’t have the player button hidden. Learn more about customizing the embed code.
