Update your On-Demand default settings

This tutorial introduces you to the On-Demand Settings page. Here you can change the default settings for your player.

Start by signing into your account on ViewMedica.com. If you don’t remember how to sign in, see our logging in tutorial.

From your dashboard, click the “On-Demand Settings” link under the “ViewMedica On-Demand” section.

Domains

Each ViewMedica On-Demand account is approved for use on one domain (URL). If your domain name changes, you can update it by clicking the input field next to https:// and entering the domain name where you would like the ViewMedica player to work.


Note

Additional domains may be added for development purposes. To request approval for additional domains, please contact us.


Player Options

These options change the way the ViewMedica On-Demand player acts. These options affect all your On-Demand apps and your website embeds unless the embed parameters set them. Learn more about customizing the embed code.

Audio

The default (“Enabled”) has your player launch videos with the volume on. You can set this to “Disabled” to launch videos with the volume muted.

Closed Captions

The default (“Enabled”) has your player automatically play closed captioning when ViewMedica videos are started. You can set this to “Disabled” to launch videos without closed captioning.

Default Language

Select an available language from the dropdown to load ViewMedica in a specific language by default.

Google Analytics

The ability to track individual ViewMedica content items on your site with Google Analytics is “Enabled” by default. You will also need to add a snippet of code to your site. Learn more about setting up tracking with Google Analytics. You can set this to “Disabled” if you don’t want to track events associated with your ViewMedica videos.

Sharing Links

When you use the player’s “Share” feature, the default (“ViewMedica Share Page”) creates links to a branded page on ViewMedica.com. This page is customized to your facility and links viewers back to your site.


Note

For embed codes obtained after January 2022, it is possible to create a custom share URL that links directly back to a page on your site. Click the “Custom Share URL” option. You will also need to add a snippet of code to your site. Learn more about sharing your On-Demand videos.


Show/Hide Buttons

Many On-Demand player buttons can be hidden. These options affect all your On-Demand apps and your website embeds unless the embed parameters set them.

Brochures

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Print Brochure” button. You can set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Captions Button

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Subtitles/CC” button allowing them to turn the captions on/off. You can set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Disclaimer

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “References/Disclaimer” button. You can set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Enlarge

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Enlarge” button allowing them to make the video fullscreen. You can set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Markup

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Markup” button allowing them access to Markup Mode. Set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Search

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Search” button allowing them to search for video titles within your subscription. Set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Chapters

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Chapters” button allowing them the ability to skip to different chapters of a video. You can set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.

Sharing

The default (“Enabled”) has your player give users access to the “Share” button allowing them to share a video via email, social media, or link. You can set this to “Disabled” to remove the button.
