To view the route history for a vehicle, you must first activate tracking for that vehicle.

By default, route history data older than 24 months is automatically deleted. If you wish to keep the data for a shorter or longer period, contact your Vimcar representative.

View the route history

  1. Click the menu item Map, then click the menu item Route history.

  2. Select a timeframe or enter the start date and time and the end date and time.

  3. Click Continue to vehicles selection.

  4. Select the vehicles for which you want to view the route history. You can select up to 10 vehicles. If you need information for more than ten vehicles, you can export the route history.

To search for a specific vehicle, click the search icon and enter a make, model, nickname or registration number.
To sort the vehicles list, click the sort icon and select a sort order.

  5. Click See trips.

You now see the routes driven by all selected vehicles on the map. Each vehicle route has a different colour.

The list on the left shows for each vehicle the number of trips, the total distance driven and the total travel time within the selected timeframe.

If you prefer to view the trips day-by-day, click Daily at the top of the vehicle list and then click the arrows to move from one day to another. This allows you to easily compare the trips of different days without having to select each day individually as the time frame.

Click on the arrow to the right of a vehicle to view the route details for that vehicle.

For each trip, you see the trip distance and duration, as well as the stop duration between trips.

When you move your mouse pointer over one of the trips on the map, it is highlighted in the route details on the left. A route is also highlighted on the map when you click on it in the route details.

When you move your mouse pointer over part of the route on the map, the date and time and the speed of the vehicle are displayed.

If a custom location is within a radius of 150 metres from the start or end address of a trip, the name and label of the location are displayed in addition to the address in the route history.

Note: Only locations created after the end of May 2022 are displayed. A location is only displayed in the route history from the date on which the location was created.

Export the route history

There are two ways to export the route history.

Option 1

Click Export history above the vehicles list and select an export format: CSV or XSLX.

Option 2

  1. Click the menu item Export, then click the menu item Route history.

  2. Select or enter a timeframe and select an export format.

  3. Select the vehicles for which you want to export the route history.

  4. Click Download to download the file directly or Via email to receive the file as an email attachment.

The exported file contains all information about the selected vehicles, such as the registration number, nickname, trip times, stop duration and coordinates of the routes and stops. If a custom location is within a radius of 150 metres from the start or end address, the name of the location is displayed in addition to the address. If several locations are close to an address, all those locations are displayed in the export file.
