To start using the Document Q&A tool, follow these steps to upload a new document:
From the dashboard, click on Document Q&A
Click Upload Files and choose your documents
Click “Upload File” to complete the upload
Once the file is processed, click into the What would you like to ask? Field
Type your query (e.g., “Give me some counterarguments or defenses to make?”) and press Enter or click the envelope icon to submit
Existing Documents
To use documents saved in your Personal Library, follow these steps:
Click Select Categories or Files to view and select documents saved in your Personal Library and select one, multiple, or all of the documents you want to consult.
Click Save
Type your query and press Enter or click the envelope icon to submit

After asking a question, you can continue the conversation by asking follow-up questions within the same session. You can upload additional documents at any time by clicking Upload Files

Summarize
Summarize documents of any length and in any language. Use filters to customize the level of detail in your summary.
Step 1 of 2: Upload your documents
There are three ways to upload content:

Review the summary options and select Advanced to customize the number of pages in the summary.
Notes:
Documents in a foreign language will be automatically translated to English.
The option to divide the summary into multiple sections is only available in Concise or Detailed mode. The default size limit is 50MB.
To manage your file, click View to preview, Download to save a copy, or Delete to remove it.
Translate
Translate any document of any language and length.
Note: Accepted file types include PDF, DOCX, CSV, XLS, and XLSX, with a maximum file size of 50 MB.
Upload your file(s). There are three ways to upload the information:

2. Select the type of translation you would like to perform
AI Translation: Select the language you would like to translate the document to and click Translate.
Certified Translation via Third-Party provider: Select the language you would like to translate the document to and click Translate/Submit to request a quote.
Note: Translation quotes generally take a few minutes. The certified translations take 24-48 hours.
Once the translation is ready, click View to preview, Download to save a copy, or Delete to remove it.

Important: All materials uploaded to or created within the user’s library are considered confidential and are not accessible to other users, attorneys, or third parties outside the user’s organization. Absent explicit user authorization, no library content is shared, disclosed, or made available across accounts. Additionally, the information stored in the library will not be used to train AI models. The platform is designed to uphold attorney-client confidentiality and protect proprietary information in compliance with applicable privacy and professional responsibility standards.

Verify your AILA Membership
To access AILA-specific resources and benefits in GEN Core, users must verify both their AILA Membership Email and their AILALink Email. This ensures access to premium legal databases, citation tools, and AILA-member pricing (if applicable). Please follow these steps to verify your membership:
From the Dashboard
Click on Settings
Under profile, click on AILA
In the AILA Membership Email field, enter the email linked to your AILA.org membership, then click Verify to complete the verification
In the AILALink Email field, enter the email used to access AILALink resources, then click Verify to complete the verification
Note: You must verify both your AILA Membership Email and AILALink Email to access all resources, as some are available only through your membership email, while others require your AILALink email.
