Creating a Route

Updated over 2 months ago

The My Route Lightning Web Component lets you create a route by selecting map pins as stops. You can personalize the route by setting a start time and specifying how long you plan to spend at each stop, making it easy to plan and optimize your schedule.

You can create a route using either the Radius Tool or the Create a Route Tool, each offering a different approach to building your route based on your needs:

1. Radius Tool:

  • The Radius Tool allows you to draw a circular area on the map, specifying a range around a central point.

  • Any map pins located within this radius are automatically added as stops to your route.

  • You can adjust the radius size by either manually entering a distance or dragging the edge of the radius.

  • This method is ideal for quickly including multiple stops in a specific geographic area.

2. Create a Route Tool:

  • The Create a Route Tool gives you precise control by letting you manually select individual map pins.

  • This method is perfect when you want to customize your route by choosing specific locations, rather than relying on a defined area.

To create a route using the radius tool:

  • Select a map pin.

  • Draw a radius that encompasses the pins you want to include.

  • Click inside the radius and select the “Create Route” icon.
