This guide walks you through the steps required in both VMC and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to configure automatic user provisioning.
Once set up, Azure AD will automatically:
✅ Create users in VMC
✅ Remove users from VMC when they no longer need access
✅ Synchronize user attributes between Azure AD and VMC
✅ Set synced users' notifications based on default settings
* We also recommend enabling VMC Single Sign-On (SSO)
Tutorial: Configure VMC for Automatic User Provisioning
For step-by-step guidance, refer to Microsoft’s official tutorial:
Assigning User Groups
To ensure users are added to the correct User Group, use the Azure "Department" name field. This allows for automatic role assignment within VMC.
⚠️ Important: All attribute mappings must be correctly configured before full provisioning begins. If changes are made after provisioning starts, Microsoft Entra ID will not resend user details to VMC until a user’s information is updated.
Note:
'Sync all users' will assign users to all kiosks.
'Sync and assign users to locations and kiosks as host' will assign Users based on the configured mapping. If no mapping is found for a particular user, they will still be synced without mapping.
'Assign default groups' = all users will be assigned to these groups
