Chest x-rays are only covered for members with the Vitable MEC Plus plan. This plan includes coverage for up to three x-rays per year, with a $50 copay per x-ray.

If you're enrolled in the Vitable Primary Care Enhanced, VPC Core, or MEC plans, imaging services—including x-rays—are not covered.

Is a chest x-ray needed after a positive QuantiFERON-Gold test?

If you received a positive QuantiFERON-Gold (TB blood test) result as part of pre-employment testing, a chest x-ray is typically the next step to confirm or rule out active TB infection.

Some employers may cover the cost of this x-ray—please check with the organization that ordered your QuantiFERON-Gold test.

If your employer does not cover the cost, our Occupational Health team can help you find low-cost options. 📞 Call us at (484) 652-2484 to get connected.
