My Sibionics GS3 sensor isn’t working — what should I do?

Here's what to do if your Sibionics GS3 CGM sensor isn't working properly

If your Sibionics GS3 CGM sensor isn’t working as expected, follow the steps below.

1️⃣ Check the warm-up period

After applying a new GS3 sensor, there is a 60-minute warm-up period. During this time, glucose readings won’t appear. This is normal.

If your sensor was applied less than an hour ago, please wait until the warm-up is complete.

2️⃣ Confirm the sensor was applied correctly

Make sure:

  • The sensor was applied following the instructions

  • It’s firmly attached to your skin

  • It hasn’t been partially dislodged

If the sensor isn’t properly inserted, it may not function correctly.

3️⃣ Check the Sibionics app

Open the Sibionics app and confirm:

  • The sensor shows as active

  • Glucose readings are appearing

If the sensor isn’t active in the Sibionics app, it won’t work in Vively.

4️⃣ Check Bluetooth and phone settings

GS3 sends data automatically via Bluetooth. Please ensure:

  • Bluetooth is turned on

  • Your phone is within 10 metres of the sensor

  • The Sibionics app is allowed to run in the background

  • Battery-saving or app-sleep settings aren’t restricting the app

5️⃣ Avoid extreme environments

Extreme heat or cold can affect sensor performance. If the sensor has been exposed to:

  • Saunas or steam rooms

  • Ice baths or very cold conditions

move to a neutral temperature environment and wait before checking again.

6️⃣ Check sensor lifespan

Each GS3 sensor lasts up to 14 days.
If your sensor has reached the end of its lifespan, it will stop working and will need to be replaced.

7️⃣ Restart and retry

If needed:

  • Restart your phone

  • Reopen the Sibionics app

  • Check whether readings resume

8️⃣ Still not working? Email us

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, your sensor may be faulty.

Please email contact@vively.com.au and include:

  • Confirmation you’re using Sibionics GS3

  • When the sensor was applied

  • A screenshot from the Sibionics app (if available)

We’ll assess the issue and help determine whether a replacement is appropriate.
