Vivvix's Cinema service provides ad expenditure data for approximately 3,900 theatres with over 34,000 screens covering nearly all 210 DMAs within all 50 states. Reported expenditures are based on billing information provided by cinema media networks. Because provided data does not consistently include market level information all data is shown within a single, national market.

Reports from the cinema networks break out activity into “national” and “regional”. National ads are viewed and classified by Vivvix according to Vivvix Central classification rules. Regional ads are mapped to Vivvix Central products. If matches cannot be found new product records are created. Ads attributed to advertising agencies, or without enough information to determine the advertiser, are mapped to a general services product. All advertising expenditures provided by the cinema media networks are included.

Cinema data is reported monthly, approximately 3–4 weeks after the end of a given month. Data is allocated to both calendar and broadcast months.

Cinema Creative

Cinema creatives are available for all national creatives which are 120 seconds or less in length. Longer creatives will be included for expenditures, but the actual creative will not be included for reporting. Cinema creatives may be viewed or downloaded and may be in .FLV (Flash Video) or MPEG4 formats.

COVID-19 Theater Closures

Cinema ad expenditures will reflect $0 for the broadcast months of March 2020 - September 2020 due to the temporary closure of movie theaters due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
