Ad occurrences for TV media (Network TV, Cable TV, Spanish Language Network TV, Syndication, Spot TV) include program information at four different levels of detail:

  • Program Genre

  • Program Cluster

  • Program Type

  • Program

These program levels function similar to our Brand and Category classification structures where the lowest program level is the most specific level. Each program level then rolls up into the level above it, allowing users to select program information at a top-line broad progam level (Program Genre) all the way down to a specific program title (Program).

There are two main ways users can see and incorporate TV program information into ad data inquiries within the Vivvix 360 solution:

  1. Users can pull information specific to TV Programs into a custom Explore report.

  2. Users can see program activiety broken out within the Advertiser and Category Review dashboards found within the Watch module.

Incorporating Program Detail into Custom Explore Reports

Step 2 - Layout Tab

Users can choose to break the Program levels out into custom Explore reports.

In Step 2 - Layout, choose any or all of the Program levels to break out in your report. These sorts will appear under the Media Specific sorts section found on the left-side of the Layout tab:

If you need a reminder as to which media types theses program sorts are valid for, you can hover over the sorts and click the "Info" icon which will appear to the right of each program sort.

Any selection that is made will appear in the Selected SORTS & MEASURES column located on the right and will appear as a row in the final report output.

Step 3 - Media/Markets Tab: TV/Radio Section

Users can filter report results by selecting a Program Level, meaning you can limit your custom Explore report export to show results just for the Program level you have selected.

Click on the TV/Radio link found within the Media/Markets tab.

Under the Programs section on the right, click into the drop-down menu to pull up the available Program levels.

Question:

How can I determine what programming information is available within each Program level?

Answer:

Click on the checkbox to the left of the program entity, then utilize the "Drill To" link which appears at the bottom-right corner of the Program selection drop-down.

EXAMPLE:

Select the Program Genre level, then select "SPORTS". Click the "Drill To" link and select the next program level down (Program Cluster).

You will see a list of the available Program Clusters which roll up into the Program Genre of SPORTS.

You can continue drilling in order to see all levels of the program hiarchy.

For example, selecting the Program Cluster FOOTBALL and Drilling To the Program Type level will futher break out the program types available under the FOOTBALL Program Cluster.

Finally, selecting a Program Type and Drilling To the Program level will show the specific program titles captured under the Program Type level.

'

PRO TIP: When pulling custom reports specific to programming within the Explore feature, our recommendation is to utilize the Program Genre, Program Cluster, or Program Type levels.

You can select the Program level if you know the EXACT naming convention of the program as designated by Gracenote. Pulling a report by a specific program title may not produce any results in the report if you inadvertantly choose an incorrect program title.

It is best to select one of the higher program levels, then select the date on which the program appeared later within the Time Periods tab.

How Program Detail Appears in Advertiser/Category Reviews within the Watch Module

Users can see how ad activity is broken out by program within Advertiser and Category Reviews which can be accessed via the Watch module.

Click on an Advertiser or Category found on one of your Watch dashboards, or search for the Advertiser/Category directly via the white search bar found at the top.

Once in the Advertiser/Category Review, click on the TV tab found towards the top-left.

Ad activity by Program will be apparent in the Programs/Clusters section located on the left.

The default view is PROGRAMS. You can switch the view to CLUSTERS for a more top-line Program view.

You can also switch the Dayparts by Network/Station view, located on the right side, from the default view of DAYPART to CLUSTERS (Advertiser Review only).
