Introducing AI-Powered Volunteer Support Chats
A new way to save time, improve consistency, and enhance volunteer experience
Volunteero is excited to announce an upcoming feature designed to significantly reduce the time you and your team spend answering repeat volunteer questions. Soon, you’ll be able to offer your volunteers the same instant, accurate responses you experience when using our Support Chat - directly within your own organisation’s volunteer app.
What Is the New Feature?
We are launching AI-powered volunteer support chats that allow your volunteers to ask questions and receive immediate, automated responses. These answers are generated based on the context, resources, and organisational guidance you provide.
Key capabilities include:
Customisable support chats for different volunteer groups or service areas.
The ability to provide detailed AI instructions - such as tone of voice, boundaries, or escalation rules.
A seamless experience embedded directly into the Volunteero app.

Data Protection
We understand concerns around how data is used, especially with AI technologies. Rest assured:
All processing takes place on the same secure infrastructure as the rest of Volunteero’s services.
Your data never leaves our data centres.
Your data does not train the wider model
Risk Mitigation
Leveraging AI always carries some risk as you are not in control of the model. We have taken steps and our clients will be able to take their own steps to mitigate risk.
We are using the most cutting edge model for this type of functionality
We tested multiple different models from different providers to select the best and most accurate version
We have configured the model to require a very high degree of confidence in order to respond to a volunteer query. If the model does not have the answer, it will respond as such
Clients can instruct the model what to do if it cannot find the answer it needs from your training resources
Clients can thoroughly test and improve their AI chats from internal testing and the feedback gathered from volunteers
In summary, any perceived risks related to AI risk should be weighed against the alternatives for example human error and untimely responses for volunteer queries.

The AI is a support tool only and should not replace human judgment or official organisational guidance.
Volunteero accepts no responsibility or liability for actions taken based on AI responses.
Important information should always be verified with staff or official resources.
Volunteero may review chat interactions to monitor quality and improve the service.
Beta participants agree to provide detailed feedback to help further develop and refine the feature.
This testing period will enable us to improve accuracy, reliability, and cost-efficiency before general release.
