Overview
Volunteers can have a photo ID attached to their profile. You can choose how it’s managed:
Organization-managed: Your organisation uploads the photo ID. This option can be hidden from volunteers or visible, in which case volunteers can upload and update the photo ID even if the organisation initially provided it.
Volunteer-managed: Volunteers can either be required to upload their own photo ID or choose to upload it optionally, with it visible on their profile.
This photo ID can serve as digital identification, in addition you can integrate this with a badge printing application, if required.
Please note a volunteer must have app access in order to create an ID photo.
Configuring Photo ID Settings
Open the "Settings" page on the left-hand side of the Staff Dashboard.
Open the "Volunteer ID Photo" section.
Here you can choose between three options:
Don't Show- Volunteers are unable to upload their own photo ID. You can still upload one on behalf of them.
Visible but optional- Volunteers are able to upload their own ID, but this is not a requirement.
Required- It is mandatory for volunteers to upload an identification photo in order to proceed with the app.
Upload a Photo ID on behalf of Volunteer
If you prefer to upload the Photo ID to each volunteer profile, here's how:
Go to the 'Volunteer' page on the left-hand side of the Staff Dashboard.
Select the volunteer profile you would like to upload a Photo ID for.
Click into 'Volunteer IDs'
Click the 'Upload Photo' box and select the relevant photo.
Note: Once you have uploaded an initial photo, you cannot replace or remove the photo. This can only be done by the volunteer. If they choose to remove their photo, you will then be able to upload a new one on their behalf.
Uploading ID via the app
If you choose for Photo ID upload to be optional via the app, the volunteer can do this by:
Go to 'Profile' then in to 'Account'
Select 'Identification Photo Upload'
Read the Photo requirements, scroll down and select 'Continue'
They will then be able to take a photo or select a photo from their gallery.
If it is a requirement for your volunteers to upload a photo ID through the app:
When a volunteer opens the volunteero app, they will be asked to upload an ID (see photo below). They will be unable to access the app until they do this.
Badge Printing
If your organisation needs photo ID badge printing, you can integrate this feature through our API. This allows you to generate and print custom badges seamlessly, giving your team or event a professional and secure identification system.
