Why can't I assign a volunteer to a mission?

Do you have a volunteer on your database, but are struggling to assign them to a mission?

Having trouble assigning a volunteer to a mission? You might be missing one key step. For a volunteer to be assigned to a mission in Volunteero, their profile must have App Access enabled. Even if a volunteer won’t be using the app themselves, enabling App Access is still required. Without it, you won’t be able to:

  • Assign them to missions

  • Report on their behalf

Here’s how to enable App Access:

  1. Go to the volunteer’s profile.

  2. Click on App Access.

  3. Click on Set Up Access, toggle on Allow access to the Volunteero app

  4. Click Confirm

  5. Now your volunteer will show up as available to assign to a mission.

Once enabled, you’ll be able to assign the volunteer to missions without any issues.

Please note: To grant App Access, the volunteer profile must have an email address. Each email can only be used for one profile, as it serves as the unique identifier. If the volunteer does not have an email address, you can use a fake email address e.g. fakevolunteer1@fakeorg.org

As always, if you require any further assistance with this, please use the support button in your Staff Dashboard or email us at support@volunteero.org. Our team will be happy to help! 😊
