What do I ask in my Custom Report?

Volunteero works with amazing organisations that have started using custom reports in such a creative and impactful way. When creating a custom report think about what you want to know from your volunteers.

  • How was their client?

  • How much money did they raise?

  • Do they have any safeguarding concerns?

  • How long did you volunteer for? etc.

Think about all things you want to capture. This could be important for funding e.g. volunteering time or duration of someone’s befriending call, the quantitative data or it could be more qualitative data such as a nice story about their volunteering today or a lovely quote from the client.

There’s a range of different use cases and questions that are being asked by our users. The following are really fun and creative ways to get the most out of your reports:

  • Ask a volunteer to upload a picture of their volunteering - This could be a picture out for a coffee with a client or a before and after of their gardening or DIY project

  • A question regarding the expectations of the mission. E.g. “Did you feel like you had a clear understanding of the expectations of the mission?”This is a great question that can highlight any issues early on in the volunteering experience.

  • Asking for any suggestions and feedback regarding the mission, client or overall volunteering experience. Checking in regularly with your volunteer and looking for ways to improve their experience will help creating that supportive and nurturing environment.

Pro-tip: add a logo or a picture to your report to make it look even more professional.
