Enabling application tracking for prospective volunteers allows for streamlined communication and an effortless onboarding journey for you and your volunteers.
First up, you're going to want to find the form(s) that you want to enable application tracking on.
(Hint, the application form will have to be 'accepting submissions' for this to work).
Go into the 'forms' tab on the management dashboard
Click into the form of your choice
Find the 'settings' button (right-hand side) and click on this.
Enable application tracking
Tick the box to 'enable application tracking' this will ensure that any applicants that apply for your opportunity via your unique advertisement board will be able to receive updates regarding the status of their applications from you.
Please note; volunteers that find your opportunity via the Volunteero app will always have application tracking enabled.
Don't forget to apply changes!
Now your form has application tracking enabled, scroll down to learn how to update the application status and the volunteer.
Updating Application Status on Submissions
Head to the submissions section of Volunteero to manage your applications.
You'll notice there is a section for 'application status, which you can see at a glance the status of each submission.
Click into a submission to begin updating the application status.
Application Status
The Application status section is visible to volunteers on their tracking page.
Process
This is customised when you create a form and is an internal-only status where the stages can be customised and updated without notifying the applicant. More information on form processes here.
Change the status of your application, by adding in:
Comments or requests

Volunteer experience
When your volunteers submit an application they will have access to an application tracking area. This will update for them based on the status changes you make on your submission.
Volunteers can also request an update from your organisation about the status of their application.
See below for examples on how the volunteer experiences application tracking on web and mobile applications.
Encouraging status tracking on web applications
Worth noting- If an applicant has submitted their application via a web page, they will be given the option to 'opt-in' to application tracking by providing an email.
We cannot require them to opt in, so we recommend encouraging those applicants to opt into the update emails by providing a little bit of text in your application form, near the submit button advising them to provide an email address on the next page to receive their application status updates.
Volunteers that apply directly through the Volunteero app will automatically receive application tracking messages via their accounts.
You will be able to see whether a volunteer has subscribed for notifications.
Onboard your volunteers
Once your applicants have completed your organisations onboarding journey you can onboard the submission to create (or link with) a Volunteero profile.
