What is Voyage?

Voyage is an online employment marketplace built specifically for international students and helps connect employers to these students to allow them to access a wider pool of talent and decrease their time spent on hiring!

How do I post my first job on Voyage?

Check out this Job Posting Guide to help guide you through how you can post your first job!

If I don’t accept international students, can I still post on Voyage?

Since Voyage is a champion of helping international students get jobs, we only accept jobs on our platform that are willing to consider international students.

Can I edit my job posting once it’s live?

Yes, simply click on your job title on your dashboard, and you can edit it! If you need to take it off the platform while editing, simply click on your job title, and on the details page, on the top right hand corner, click on “Set as Draft” while you edit!

How do I manage candidates who have applied for my job post?

Simply click on the candidate's profile, and under their contact details you will see a drop down menu that will allow you to move the candidate to either shortlisted, rejected, or other options!

How does the candidate search work?

Candidate search allows you to filter candidates that fit your ideal profile. You can filter by location, work experience, education, industry, and more! Once you find a candidate you like, you can click on “Invite to Apply” so they get a notification asking them to apply for your position!

Are your candidates onshore already?

Majority of our candidates are onshore and already studying/working here in Australia! The ones that aren’t are making their way here as you read this, and will be here before the next semester starts!

How do I check a candidate’s right to work?

We are currently working with providers to verify a candidate's right to work directly in their passport, and will inform you as soon as it’s live! In the meantime you can use this link to check the work right of any candidate you are speaking with - VEVO Visa Check

Do I need to pay to hire an International Student?

The cost to hire an international student is going to be no different than the cost to hire an Australian Citizen or PR. Most students get their own work rights themselves, at no cost to any potential employer!

Do international student graduates have full work rights?

International student graduates with Bachelor, Masters or PhD qualifications are in many cases eligible to apply for temporary post-study work visas (subclass 485), which allow international students to live, study and work in Australia after they have finished their studies.

How long can international student graduates stay in Aus after graduation?

The length of stay ranges from 2 to 6 years depending on the level and discipline of the student’s Australian study qualification. International student graduates with a degree from an Australian institution located in a regional area may be eligible for a second post-study work visa, which allows them to stay in Australia for an additional 1 or 2 years.

Further information is available on the Department of Home Affairs website.

Do employers have to sponsor an international graduate’s visa?

Temporary post-study work visas (subclass 485) and student visas (subclass 500) do not require employer sponsorship.

If you would like to understand the other visa options, refer to IEAA’s Employing international students & graduates: Information and guidelines for employers.
