When you're first getting started on Vypr, it can seem a little daunting! Here are some top tips to start with:
1. Who do you want to ask?
Do you wish to send your steer to the Total Community, targeting using Public Demographics, your account's Private Demographics or a Nat Rep sample?
2. Which steer type will you use?
Vypr has a number of different options for which steer to use, dependent on what you're wanting to ask. Take a look at our steer types to see which one best fits your question.
3. Make sure your question isn't leading!
For the most robust data, you need to make sure you are not influencing the consumer to answer a certain way.
4. Have you included all the required information for the steer?
Double-check the question is clear and concise. If you're asking about kids meals, include it in the question e.g., 'Would you buy this for your child?'.
5. Are your images consistent for all options?
Your images need to be consistent in quality. For example, you wouldn't compare low-quality iPhone photos with an HQ studio-quality photo. If you're going to test packaging, ensure that the time is taken to mock up quality images.
6. Ask simple, clear questions!
The simpler the better! You are looking for the quick, subconscious system 1 type response from the consumer. The more time they think about the question, the more it veers into that calculated response, which isn't Vypr.
7. Only test one variable at a time
Testing multiple variables at once won't be helpful. For example, testing pack size and flavour in one steer, you won't be able to understand which element the consumer liked (or disliked).
It is best to test each one at once.
8. Always benchmark!
Just because it's a good idea that tested well, it does not mean it'll be a success with the existing range and vs competitors (or vice versa!).
