In this video, you will learn how mass broadcasts work in Wabb
How to Create Mass Broadcasts on Wabb
Sending targeted messages to your audience is easy with the WhatsApp Bot Builder. Whether you're reaching out to active clients, leads, or inactive contacts, broadcasting is a great way to engage your audience.
Here’s how to create and manage broadcasts efficiently:
Step 1: Import Contacts
Prepare your contacts in a spreadsheet.
Make sure each phone number includes the country code.
Follow the exact heading format in the template to avoid errors during import.
Step 2: Design Your Broadcast Flow
Your broadcast message is created in the Flows section. While designing, keep these best practices in mind:
Write engaging content.
Personalize messages using system fields (e.g., Full Name, First Name).
Use the Randomizer block to send different variations of your message.
Always include an opt-out option to reduce spam complaints.
Step 3: Create a Broadcast
To create a broadcast:
Click "Create Broadcast."
Name your broadcast (e.g., "Valentine’s Day 2024 Promotion").
Select the flow (message) you want to send.
Step 3: Set Message Delay
Choose between two types of delays:
Smart Delay: Randomized delay (e.g., 20-50 seconds) between messages to avoid sending them all at once.
Manual Delay: Set a fixed delay (e.g., 20 seconds) if you prefer more control over timing.
Setting a delay is important to avoid being flagged as spam by WhatsApp.
Step 4: Filter Your Audience
You can filter your audience by labels. Start with smaller batches (100-200 people) to avoid issues with spam detection.
Step 5: Start the Broadcast
Once you’ve set up everything, click "Start" and WABB will send messages to your selected contacts, following the delay settings. You can monitor the progress and see when all messages have been sent.
Step 6: Review Broadcast History
In the History tab, you can view past broadcasts, including:
Broadcast name
Flow used
Number of recipients
Date and time sent
You can also duplicate successful broadcasts for future use.
How to check failed broadcasts
If you notice failed numbers in your broadcast statistics, it usually means those contacts are not available on WhatsApp, and therefore the messages couldn’t be delivered.
WABB automatically tags these contacts as “Invalid WhatsApp” so you can easily identify them.
To check this:
Once your broadcast is complete, go to Contacts.
Open the General Filter and Tag option.
Search for the tag “Invalid WhatsApp” and click on it to view the contacts.
Best Practices for WhatsApp Broadcasts in WABB
Using broadcasts in WABB is a powerful way to reach your audience. To ensure your messages are well-received and your account remains in good standing, follow these best practices:
1. Focus on Opt-In Contacts
Always send broadcasts only to contacts who have agreed to receive messages from your business, such as:
Existing customers
Form submissions
Content downloads
✅ Opt-in contacts are more likely to engage and less likely to mark your messages as spam. This helps maintain your account’s reputation and overall message deliverability.
2. Always Include an Opt-Out Option
Provide a simple way for recipients to stop receiving messages (e.g., “Reply STOP to opt out”).
This reduces spam complaints.
It also shows respect for your audience’s preferences.
👉 Pro Tip: Tag contacts who opt out with labels such as “Don’t Send” or “Not Interested” so they are excluded from future broadcasts.
3. How to Set Up an Opt-Out System
Step 1: Add Opt-Out Message to Your Broadcast
Include a clear line such as:
“Reply STOP if you don’t want to receive further messages.”
Step 2: Create an Opt-Out Flow
Create a new flow named Opt-Out.
Add an action block that tags the contact as “Don’t Send” or “Not Interested.”
Step 3: Automate Opt-Out Keywords
In the Automation section, create a new keyword automation.
Add keywords like STOP, REMOVE, NOT INTERESTED (case-insensitive).
Link this automation to the Opt-Out flow.
Step 4: Manage Opt-Outs
Regularly check your tags.
Ensure opted-out contacts are filtered out of future broadcasts.
Other Best Practices for Broadcasts
✅ Send only to known contacts – Don’t message people who haven’t interacted with your business.
✅ Vary your messages – Avoid sending the same message repeatedly to the same person.
✅ Warm up new numbers – If using a new number, start with manual engagement for 1–2 days before large broadcasts.
✅ Encourage engagement – Ask questions or invite replies to improve your account rating.
✅ Limit links and attachments – Too many external links or media files can trigger spam filters.
Following these practices helps you build trust with your audience, reduce spam complaints, and protect the long-term health of your WhatsApp business account.
