How to Select Individual Apps to Block By Inactivity (Not Entire Categories)

Selecting apps to block by inactivity is simple

Updated over a week ago

Step-by-Step Guide

After granting Active Pass permission, here's how to select specific apps:

1. Open App Selection

  • Go to Wakeout Settings > Active Pass

  • Tap "Add Apps"

  • iOS's app selection screen will appear

2. Expand the Category

  • Find the category containing your desired app (like "Social" or "Entertainment")

  • Look for the arrow (>) on the right edge of the category

  • Tap the arrow to expand and see all apps within that category

3. Select Individual Apps

  • Once expanded, you'll see all apps in that category

  • Tap the small circle to the left of each app icon you want to include

  • A checkmark will appear in the circle when selected

4. Save Your Selection

  • After selecting your apps, tap "Done"

  • These specific apps will now become your Reward Apps

Important Reminder

Never select entire categories! This would block too many apps and might include essential ones. Always expand categories and choose individual apps that tend to keep you sitting during leisure time.

Example

Instead of selecting the entire "Social" category:

  • Tap the arrow to expand "Social"

  • Select only Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok

  • Leave work-related social apps like LinkedIn or Slack unchecked

This targeted approach ensures Active Pass enhances your wellbeing without interfering with essential app access.
