Pair a Stripe Terminal to a New Device
Updated over a week ago

If you are using the terminal on a new device you will need to complete the terminal pairing process. If your device has been turned off for an extended period it will need to be plugged in and charged overnight. Stripe sends the terminal updates each night. To receive the updates the terminal must be plugged in overnight.

Pair your terminal to a new device

  1. Connect to the same wifi as the studio computer or tablet

  2. Once connected, the terminal may apply updates and a three word pairing code will appear on the screen

  3. If the three word paring code does not appear on the screen, swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a Settings button

  4. Tap the Settings button and enter the admin PIN 07139

  5. From here, you can update your wifi settings or generate a pairing code for device registration

  6. Send this code to Walla Support support@hellowalla.com. To make it easy for the teams to identify that you a messaging in with a pairing code, in the title of your email put Stripe Pairing Code

Note: The code expires within two hours of it being generated.

  7. A member of the Walla team will pair your terminal using the code to your connect Stripe account and will confirm that the terminal is now paired

Once paired, the terminal may apply additional updates and then display a rainbow screen with "Stripe". Now the terminal is ready for use!

Why does the terminal not say connected under Business Settings?

The terminal’s status will not indicate it is connected under Business Settings which is by design.
The terminal connects to Walla when you select Use New Card and choose Read Card from Terminal on the checkout page.

Once the transaction is complete the terminal status under Business Settings will reflect as "not connected" which is a matter of temporary status and not an indication of a system error.
