How does one client pay for another client's purchase? (Card Present & Using a Stored Card)
Updated over a week ago

This guide will provide you with a clear step-by-step process for handling such payment scenarios seamlessly. Other than being able to purchase a drop-in for another client, Walla does not have a true pay for another client feature.

How to Have One Client Pay for Another Client (Using a Stored Card)

Charging a Client's Account and Purchasing a Pack for Another Client

Step 1: Verify Payment Method

  • Check if the paying client has a card stored for payment.

  • If not, instruct them to store their card on the app or widget.

Step 2: Charge Paying Client's Account

  1. Pull up the paying client's profile.

  2. Navigate to the bottom of the overview tab.

  3. Look for the "Adjust Balance" option and select it.

  4. Choose "Charge an Amount to Client Account."

  5. Specify the amount (e.g., $100) to charge and explain it's required for the purchase.

  6. Select "Pay Balance" to charge the client's card.

Step 3: Process Recipient's Purchase

  1. Access the recipient's profile.

  2. Go to the bottom of the overview tab and choose "Adjust Balance."

  3. Select "Issue Credit to Client Account."

  4. Enter the amount (e.g., $100) as credit for the recipient.

  5. Navigate to the top of the page and select "Actions."

  6. Choose "Buy a New Plan" since it's a two-pack purchase.

  7. Complete the checkout process as usual.

Step 4: Apply Account Credit

  1. Scroll down on the checkout page.

  2. Do not select a card for payment.

  3. Opt for "Apply Account Credit" instead.

  4. Optionally adjust the credit amount using the pencil icon.

  5. Confirm the purchase and complete the checkout process.

Additional Notes

  • Clients with account balances can also use them to purchase items on the app or widget.

  • This process is for purchasing on behalf of another client. If the purchaser is present, you can directly use their card for the purchase.

  • No need to add an account balance when the purchaser is present. Just use the provided card for payment.

By following these steps, you can successfully charge a client's account, move the amount to the recipient's account, and purchase a pack or plan for another client using the account balance feature.

How to Have One Client Pay for Another Client (Card Present)

This guide will provide you with a clear step-by-step process for handling such payment scenarios seamlessly.

Step 1: Access Checkout

Navigate to the checkout section of your payment processing system. Find the transaction related to the items or services the second client (Client B) intends to purchase.

Step 2: Determine Payment Amount

For instance, if the total purchase amount for Client B is $100, ensure you have this information ready.

Step 3: Enter Payment Information

  1. Request the payment card from the first client (Client A) who wishes to make the payment on behalf of Client B.

  2. Input the payment card details accurately into the payment processing system. Exercise caution not to save the card details unless explicitly instructed to do so. By default, the system typically leaves this option unchecked.

  3. If you have access to additional terminals or devices, clients can use contactless payment methods, such as tap-to-pay, especially if you have a stripe reader.

Step 4: Save and Process Payment

  1. After entering the payment information, click on the "Save" option.

  2. Proceed to process the payment as you would for any regular transaction.

  3. Keep in mind that most payment processing systems do not support direct automatic payments from one client's account to another's.

  4. Consequently, the method outlined in this guide, which involves having Client A provide their payment card, is a practical approach to handling these types of transactions.
