We’re all about making your trip unforgettable—carving up the pistes, dancing until dawn, and creating memories that last. To keep the good times rolling, there are a few essential safety guidelines to follow. These will help ensure that you, your fellow trippers, and everyone else on holiday stay happy, healthy, and safe throughout your trip.
Travel Insurance
Winter sports travel insurance is absolutely essential for ski or snowboard holiday's due to the high risks and costs involved in mountain environments. Specialised medical assistance is the most important cover as the risk of injury increases significantly while skiing or snowboarding.
The cost of medical treatment is significant: broken limbs and ligament tears often require mountain rescue, which can cost thousands, with complex hospital treatment abroad in private medical facilities.
If you need to purchase insurance, we have partnered with Covered2go, a trading name of Rush Insurance who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. They offer a wide range of travel insurance policies at competitive prices so that you can have peace of mind whilst you are away with a choice of policies ranging from single trips and cover for winter sports, whilst an annual multi -trip option can save you both time and money.
With different levels of cover, Silver, Platinum, or Gold – you can choose the level of cover that best suits both your needs, and your budget.

EHIC and GHIC
When you travel to an EU country you should have either:
a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)
Your EHIC will remain valid until its expiry date, once expired the GHIC will take over.
An EHIC or GHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance. Wasteland Travel strongly recommend you have both a health insurance card and travel insurance, as there are limitations to the EHIC/GHIC.
When travelling in the EU and beyond, it is important you check that your travel insurance covers your current circumstances, including any medical conditions, as well as the activities you plan to do on you holiday. If you have an annual policy, make sure you check the Terms and Conditions and contact your insurance provider if you’re not sure.
