Wayward Boosted

Wayward Boosted is Wayward’s exclusive content amplification program. Through this program, Wayward partners with a curated network of premium publishers to create and promote high-performing commerce content, taking a hands-on role in both content strategy and paid media amplification. Unlike standard affiliate programs, Wayward Boosted gives brands access to an exclusive traffic channel powered entirely by Wayward’s own paid campaigns.

How it works

Wayward partners directly with top publishers to feature brand products in optimized shopping content. Once live, Wayward runs paid search and social campaigns to amplify these placements and drive incremental, high-intent traffic back to Amazon.

Key benefits

  • Exclusive Traffic Channel: All paid media traffic is fully managed and funded by Wayward. Publishers do not run paid campaigns independently, ensuring the performance is unique and incremental to other affiliate channels.

  • Editorial Collaboration: Wayward works closely with publisher commerce teams to optimize content for conversions and ensure product placements align with both editorial goals and brand objectives.

  • Paid Media Execution: Wayward handles all paid amplification across Google, Meta, and other major platforms, continuously optimizing for ROI and scale.

Publishers include

The Strategist, Reviewed, Pop Sugar, Brit&Co, and more. You can see a complete list of our boosted partners by navigating to the Creators tab in Wayward and filtering for "Is Boosted Publisher".

Example content powered by Wayward:

How do I join Wayward Boosted?

You don’t need to apply or pay extra to join Wayward Boosted. As long as your products are active in both our Attribution-Based and Associates-Based programs, they’re automatically eligible for Boosted placements.

All sales generated through boosted publishers follow our standard pricing: a 5% fee to Wayward on tracked affiliate revenue.

Boosted Content Placements through Wayward

We are pleased to offer boosted content placement reporting through Wayward. In the Boosted Placements tab within the Analytics section, you can view the non-indexed article links where your products have appeared through our Boosted Publishers.

Please note that not every placement will surface here. Only content from Boosted Publishers (not external publishers) is included, and some articles cannot be tracked due to reporting limitations.

Our system also reflects updates publishers make to live content. This means you may see your products featured in articles published before you joined Wayward, as products are routinely rotated in and out.

We aim to provide the most complete and reliable view possible and continue to improve our tracking to surface as many boosted placements as we can.

How do I increase my chances of being featured in Boosted Content?

Setting a Boosted Commission Rate can help increase visibility and improve your chances of being included in boosted content.

To update your Boosted commission rate:

  1. Open your Wayward dashboard.

  2. Select “Boosted Publisher Commission.”

  3. Set your incremental commission rate above your current rate (we recommend 5% or higher for the greatest incentive).

  4. Save your changes.

  5. Your updated rate will immediately be available to our boosted publishers.

Wayward Associates

Wayward Associates is Wayward’s Amazon Associates–based program that enables promotion across our network of top-tier, premium publishers. This program is designed for major publishers who use their own Amazon Associates tracking links, allowing brands to access trusted editorial placements while maintaining accurate tracking and performance reporting through Wayward.

How it works

Wayward partners directly with top publishers that drive significant Amazon sales through affiliate content. These publishers use their own Associates tracking links to promote Wayward products, and Wayward manages all brand relationships, commission structures, and reporting on the backend. Sales are tracked via direct data feeds from publishers’ Amazon Associates accounts.

This program is specifically built for major publishers who cannot use Amazon Attribution links due to the policy update in December 2024.

Publishers include

Buzzfeed, DotDash, Forbes, BestReviews.Guide, BuyersReport, and more.

How do I join Wayward Associates?

To enroll in Wayward Associates and make your products eligible for promotion across our premium publisher network, simply set your Associates commission rate and enable your products for Associates through the Products tab on Wayward. Once enabled, your products are automatically eligible for promotion.

What was the policy change in December 2024?

In December 2024, Amazon updated its policy to prevent creators and publishers from “double-dipping” — earning multiple commissions on the same traffic through different programs or tracking methods. Since this polocy change, creators must choose between promoting products via Amazon Attribution links or Amazon Associates links, but cannot use both for the same traffic.

Key benefits

  • Expanded Publisher Access: Work with large, established publishers that operate through the Amazon Associates network, including Buzzfeed, Forbes, and others.

  • Custom Commission Rates: Commission rates are set per publisher and ASIN, allowing for flexible partnerships that reflect each publisher’s reach and performance.

  • Integrated Reporting: Wayward audits Creator Connections data to prevent duplicate payments across programs, ensuring transparent and accurate reporting for all sales.

Wayward Attribution

Wayward Attribution is Wayward's Amazon Attribution-Based Program that allows brands to track and drive sales through Wayward’s network of creators and publishers using Amazon Attribution links.

How it works

To get started, brands sync their Amazon Ads account with Wayward, which makes products eligible for promotion across our network of over 5,000 content creators. Once enabled, creators generate and share promotional content using Wayward Attribution links. Sales are tracked directly through the Amazon Attribution API, providing detailed reporting on performance for every product. Additionally, all sales through Attribution links are tracked within a 14-day Attribution window.

Seller central brands receive 10% back on all sales driven through attribution links through the Amazon Brand Referral Bonus.

How do I join Wayward Attribution?

To enroll in Wayward Attribution and make your products eligible for promotion across our creator network, simply set your Attribution commission rate and enable your products for Attribution through the Products tab on Wayward. Once enabled, your products are automatically eligible for promotion.

What is the 14-day Attribution window?

The 14-day Attribution window is the period after a customer clicks on an Amazon Attribution link during which any resulting purchase is credited to that link. This allows creators and publishers to receive credit for conversions that occur up to 14 days after the initial click.

What is the Amazon Brand Referral Bonus?

The Amazon Brand Referral Bonus is a 10% rebate offered by Amazon on sales generated through affiliate links and off-site advertising. To receive the Brand Referral Bonus, you must have a seller central account and be enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. Once your brand is enrolled, you will automatically receive the bonus on all sales made through Wayward Attribution links, with no additional action required on your part.

When will I receive my brand referral bonus?

You will receive your Brand Referral Bonus on a bi-monthly basis. The full amount of your bonus is credited after a two-month waiting period, which allows time for any sales adjustments or returns.

Where can I see my brand referral bonus?

The Brand Referral Bonus is not visible within Wayward. While Wayward tracks all sales generated through Attribution links, the bonus itself is applied and reported directly by Amazon. You can view your earned bonus in Amazon Seller Central through the Amazon Attribution dashboard in the Advertising Console.
