This article details how to test the workflow and experience the platform from a client's perspective.
Document creation can only occur through the client portal. If your client needs to create an estate planning document, they must first be invited to the platform and set up their account. Once their account is active, they will have access to the available documents for drafting in the Document Center.
However, if you would like to test the document creation process as an advisor, you can certainly do so! Here are the options available for advisors to experience the client portal firsthand.
Option 1: Using Client Mode
Client Mode is a feature within your management dashboard that allows you to experience the client interface. It is a demo environment tied to the advisor’s account, designed for training or demonstration purposes. Documents created in Client Mode are considered demo artifacts and are not linked to any real client profile. This mode is intended solely for "test driving" the client experience and understanding the workflow; it should not be used to draft actual documents for your clients.
While Client Mode is a valuable tool for demonstrations, it has certain limitations: - Documents are not transferable: Any documents created in Client Mode cannot be transferred or converted to a real client’s account.
To Access: Click your initials in the top-right corner and select Client Mode from the dropdown menu.
Option 2: Creating a Client Profile
If you want a completely independent test environment, you can invite yourself to the platform as a client. Follow these instructions here for how to create a new client profile.
Requirements: You must use a personal email address (or an alternative email not in use already) that is not already associated with your advisor account.
Process: Log out of your advisor account entirely before creating and accessing this new personal profile to avoid login conflicts.
