Automation: Introduction
Updated over a week ago

Welcome to Automation! A function in webCRM that makes it possible to create automated flows across your system. This could for example be a notification to an Order responsible, whenever the order date is due, or an e-mail notification when a new customer is registered in webCRM.

Besides notifications and e-mails, the Automation tool allows you to create a more efficient workflow, by automatically filling out fields, based on specific triggers and conditions.

You find the Automation tool in the Utility menu, as shown below:

Create your first Automation

To create an automation, press the blue "+" icon, on the right side of the picture, as shown below.

Give your Automation a name and choose a trigger. There are two different types of triggers. One is called Entity Event and the other is Manual.

By Entity Event the automation is triggered by a defined action, where as the Manual trigger creates a button, that will manually start the automation.

Active or Stopped

You can choose to activate the automation, or stop it. You find the Active / Stopped function in the right side of every automation.

Status and Logs

When you go to an Automation, you can see Status and Logs. This data gives you some transparency within the automation, to whether or not it ran successfully, or if it might have failed. You find Status and Logs in the right side of the automation, on the button Actions.

Under Status and Logs you can see different kinds of information, regarding every triggered automation:

  1. Choose a date interval for the automations you wish to see

  2. Choose which Status, you want to see fx. Succeeded or Failed

  3. See status for every triggered automation

  4. Start- and end date of each automation

  5. See which entity the automation flow was run on

  6. See how many actions have been completed in the automation flow

By clicking on one of the automation flows, you will see a pop-up window. Here you can see all the different touchpoints of the automation, and even where the automation ran in to errors.
