At Webot, we go to great lengths to keep your sensitive information safe. All data transmitted during the bank verification process is encrypted in transit to prevent unauthorized access. Employee access to customer data is strictly limited, and all employees undergo background checks.
How Bank Verification Works
You can verify your bank account in just a few minutes by securely entering your banking credentials through our trusted partner, Stripe. This process may feel familiar if you’ve ever verified a bank account with services like PayPal.
Important:
Your banking credentials are encrypted and handled entirely by Stripe; Webot never sees or touches them.
Webot does not store or have access to your login details (username or password).
The connection is secure and used only for the transaction you authorize.
Stripe may securely process your information to:
Verify your bank account ownership.
Confirm that the account is valid and eligible for the transaction to help reduce the risk of failed transfers.
Help prevent fraud and identity theft.
One-Time Secure Connection (No Bank Account Linking)
Webot does not maintain a persistent connection to your bank account. Each time you make a transaction, you will be asked to securely connect your bank account again via Stripe. This ensures that:
You stay in full control of when access is granted.
Your data is only used for a specific transaction.
There is no ongoing access to your bank account.
You can revoke access at any time by simply not reconnecting your bank account.
What Information Is Used?
When you connect your bank account for a transaction, you authorize Webot to receive limited information (depending on your bank), such as:
Bank account details (securely transmitted and protected)
Account owner information (name, address, phone number, email)
Account status (for transaction verification only)
This information is used solely for the transaction you approve, including:
Confirming account ownership.
Verifying account eligibility to ensure a successful deposit.
Preventing fraudulent activity. Webot does not have ongoing access to your bank account.
Does Webot Have Access to My Bank Credentials?
No. Webot does not have access to your bank login credentials (username or password) and will never ask for them. If anyone claiming to represent Webot requests this information, please stop communication immediately and contact Webot Support.
Is Stripe Secure?
Webot works with Stripe, a global leader in payment infrastructure, to securely facilitate bank verification and transfers. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1—the highest security standard in the industry. Stripe uses industry-leading security practices, including:
Strong encryption for data at rest and in transit.
Secure infrastructure that is regularly audited.
Multi-factor authentication and continuous monitoring for suspicious activity.
For more details, please refer to Stripe’s Privacy Policy and security documentation.
Does Stripe Sell My Data?
No. According to Stripe’s Privacy Policy, it does not sell or rent your personal financial information to third parties. Stripe handles your data in accordance with strict global privacy and security standards.
Do I Have to Use Stripe?
As part of our commitment to security, Webot uses trusted providers like Stripe for secure, instant bank verification. If you prefer not to use Stripe, you may choose from other available payment methods supported by Webot.
