1. Why is Wello closing?
Wello’s decision to close reflects current market conditions and strategic considerations around long-term sustainability.
2. When will services stop functioning?
All service activities will cease on April 13, 2026.
3. What do I need to do?
Please export your private keys or recovery phrase, complete any pending transactions, and transfer any assets you wish to move by April 13, 2026. After this date, the Wello app and interface will no longer be accessible, and you will need your private keys to access your wallet through a third-party interface.
4. What happens to my wallet and assets after closure?
Wello is a self-custody wallet. This means Wello does not hold, control, or safeguard the digital assets in your wallet on your behalf. You must export your private keys to ensure that you continue to have access to your wallet and complete any transfers or other actions you wish to take before April 13, 2026. After April 13, 2026, the Wello app, certain Wello service features, transaction support, and other wallet-related services will no longer be available. Any fiat payment, payout, or other transaction that remains pending through a third-party provider at the time of closure will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the relevant wind-down arrangements.
5. Will my personal data be deleted?
Not immediately. Personal data and transactional data must be retained securely for the regulatory retention period under AML/KYC laws. Your data will not be used for any new purpose during the retention period.
Once the period expires, the data will be permanently deleted.
6. Who can I contact for help?
Please reach out to our support team at support@wellowallet.com for assistance during the wind-down process.
