The majority of clients currently use an excel importing process to upload and update employee data including adding new starters, deactivating leavers, and updating manager assignments.

When were activation emails previously sent to new users?

Previously, when an excel import was uploaded to the system and this contained new users - whether manager or employee - as soon as uploaded, this would trigger activation emails (or verification emails if using SSO) to be sent to any users who were new to the system.

To give clients more control over when these emails are sent to new users, we've tweaked the process.

When will activation emails now be sent to new users?

Uploading an excel file to the system with new users will no longer trigger activation emails to be sent out.

Now, the sending of activation emails is triggered solely from the People > User Activity page.

From here, you can bulk-send activation emails to all users who have not logged in yet, or select particular individuals to send to.

What are the benefits of this change?

  • Update your employee information at any time without worrying about sending emails to users before you're ready for them to access.

  • Ability to add all of your new users ahead of running surveys and holding off giving access to the results until the survey closes and you're ready for them to start analysing team results.
