Visibility of manager ratings to employee users

Who is this article for?

Admins, Execs, Managers

The Ratings feature allows both the employee and manager to give their own ratings and come to an agreed set of ratings afterwards.

However, when administrators set up the set of ratings they want employees/managers to use, they can choose whether employees are able to see the manager's version of the ratings.

These can either be made visible to the employee, or hidden from the employee.

This is done on an item by item basis so you could have some manager ratings within a set that are visible to employees and some that are hidden.

How to choose visibility when setting up ratings

When setting up the ratings (instructions here), use the Show responses options at the bottom to select either Show manager responses to employee or Hide manager responses from employee.

How do managers know if their ratings are going to be visible to employees?

When managers are completing their ratings, if their rating is going to be hidden to employee, a message will appear underneath the comment box to let them know such as the below. If the message does not appear, the rating will be visible to the employee.

What will employees see if the manager ratings are hidden?

If a manager rating is not available to the employee, the response will not display when they click into their ratings within their own account. For example below, the employee can see the Collaborative score of 3 given by the manager, but the two underneath Integrity and Pro-active do not show a score.
