The people data spreadsheet explained

Before you can invite employees to take part in surveys, you'll first need to upload your employee data so you can select them to include.

To add more than one person at a time, use our spreadsheet template which you can download from here or in the app via People > Import > Download an empty template link.

Below is a quick explanation of the required and optional columns and what to include.

Once completed, go back to Import and upload your new file as a CSV file.

Column name	Required?	What to include	Why?
Email	Required		Send survey invites to staff
First name	Required		Used in emails
Last name	Optional		Used in emails
Role	Required	'Employee' 'Employee bubble' 'Manager bubble' 'Manager bubble with admin'	Determines the role this person has in your account (see more here)
Reports to	Optional	Manager's email address (can include more than one with a comma)	Gives this manager access to the employee's results
Preferred notification	Optional	'Slack', 'Email' or 'Both'	If have slack integration set up, choose how to send survey invites
Active	Required	'Yes'	Inactive people can't be sent surveys
Can view comments	Required	'Yes' for all people. Putting 'No' only makes difference for manager logins.	Allows import to work correctly.
Filter: Team	Optional	Ability to rename filter to segment in another way.	First way of segmenting your results (see note at bottom)
Filter: Location	Optional	Ability to rename filter to segment in another way.	2nd way of segmenting your results

NOTE: If running surveys anonymously, make sure there are at least 4 people in each team, location etc to enable you to view their results breakdown.
