Faster loading speeds applied to survey results Dashboards to improve user experience

One of the key pages accessed by users is the survey results Dashboard, displaying a set of scores and recommendations from a particular survey.

Dashboards containing a larger number of survey participants took longer to load the data. Every time a filter was applied, the Dashboard would have to regenerate to create a new set of data, which meant that users with the highest level of access who were trying to switch between different filter segments of employees were having to wait a while for the new view to load each time.

This month, we released some improvements to speed up the loading of the Dashboard.

Even for larger groups of participants, the Dashboard now loads the quantitative data almost instantly e.g. the scores and bar graph.

The 'Recommendations' section displayed underneath the graph now displays a loading circle the first time a particular view is accessed. This section takes 8 seconds or less to load when being viewed for the first time. The system then creates a cached version of this view (including the graph and recommendations) so that the next time the user, or another user with the same level of access, tries to view, all data is displayed straight away.

Dashboards which were taking 1 minute or so to load all of the information are now taking 8 seconds or less.
