You need a Whippet Notes account before you can record consultations and review notes. This guide covers creating an account, signing in day to day, and resetting a forgotten password — all on the web dashboard in your browser. New to the product overall? See Getting started with Whippet Notes (web) for the bigger picture.
Creating an account
On the sign-in page, under Don't have an account?, click Sign up.
On the Create an account screen, fill in First name, Email, and Password (all required). Last name and Mobile are optional — the mobile field is for a phone number and shows a sample format (for example,
400 000 000).Click Sign up.
You'll land on the Confirm your email screen, which tells you the address it sent the code to. Check that inbox for the 6-digit confirmation code, type it into Confirmation code, and click Confirm account.
Once confirmed, you're taken to the sign-in page to log in for the first time.
By signing up you agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, both linked at the bottom of the Create an account screen.
In any password field, click the small eye icon on the right to reveal what you've typed; click it again to hide it.
Signing in
On the login page (the Welcome back heading), enter your Email and Password and click Sign in. You're taken straight to your dashboard.
Resetting your password
If you can't remember your password, you don't need a new account.
On the sign-in page, click Forgot password? (to the right of the Password label).
On the Reset your password screen, enter your Email and click Send reset code.
You'll move to the Set new password screen, with your email already filled in. Check your inbox for the 6-digit reset code, enter it in Reset code, type your New password, and click Reset password.
You're returned to the sign-in page to log in with your new password.
If you remember your password partway through, the Reset your password screen has a Sign in link under Remember your password?, and the Set new password screen has a Back to sign in link.
Staying signed in
Once you've signed in, Whippet remembers you in that browser — opening the login or sign-up page again sends you straight to your dashboard. To switch accounts, sign out first.
If something goes wrong
A red message appears above the form. It tells you what went wrong (for example, wrong email or password, or an email that's already registered). Correct the field and try again.
"An unexpected error occurred." Something didn't go through cleanly — wait a moment and try again.
Buttons and fields look greyed out. The form is submitting; just wait for it to finish.
The form won't submit. Fill in the required fields: First name, Email and Password on sign-up; Email and Password on sign-in; Email, Reset code and New password on reset. The Email fields also expect a properly formatted email address.
Your reset or confirmation code doesn't work. Make sure you've copied the full code from the most recent email, with no extra spaces.
What this doesn't do (yet)
No social or single sign-on. You sign in with an email and password only — there are no "continue with Google/Apple" style buttons.
No "remember this device" or "resend code" button. If a confirmation or reset code doesn't arrive, restart the relevant flow to trigger a new email.
For what to set up once you're in, see Editing your profile.
