Why it matters
Exporting contacts allows you to analyze data outside Whippy, back up your records, or share filtered audiences with other systems. You can export all contacts or only the contacts that match your current filters.
Key Concepts
Exports: Downloads of contact data in CSV format, available from the Contacts page or from inside Segments.
Filtered Export: A download that includes only the contacts currently visible based on applied filters.
All Contacts Export: A complete export of every contact in your workspace, regardless of the filters applied.
Export Options Menu: The three vertical dots beside the Add Contact button. This menu provides access to export features.
Step-by-Step: Exporting Contacts
Go to Data and select Contacts.
Apply filters if you want to export a specific subset of contacts.
Click the three vertical dots next to the Add Contact button.
Choose Download CSV.
Select one of the export options:
Download all contacts to export the entire contact list.
Download filtered contacts to export only the contacts matching your current filters.
Save the generated CSV file to your device.
Tips and Best Practices
Apply filters before exporting to avoid downloading unnecessary data.
Confirm that your filters show the correct contact count before exporting.
Use exports to audit data quality, verify segmentation logic, or update external systems.
Maintain secure storage practices for exported contact data.
